And how long did you keep the throttle pegged after the valve went? Until road speed was zero by the look of it! I remember pulling apart a truck engine like that,the inlet valve jammed up the port - we asked the driver why he kept going with a dropped valve...''oh,I thought it was just some stones hitting the mudguard''.
Chicken and egg stuff as to what went first,with a Honda it's usually the inlet valve because of a stretched camchain.The tappet nut is an interesting theory,but not likely to damage valves,unless it caught somewhere and held a valve open.The tappet adjuster will unwind for more clearance,not less.Anyway,a good effort
