    The motorcycle addiction

    Are you addicted?

Do you purchase a brand new wizz bang motorcycle then spend countless hours searching the internet for ..... stuff.

And purchase or make personalised 'stuff' for said new motorcycle.

Do you have a box or boxes of factory parts that you have removed and replaced ........

Do you search TM for motorcycle 'projects' despite not having the funds for the project if it turns up?

Does that relatively new helmet you purchased a year back not 'go' with the new bike you purchased 9 months back and really piss you off?

    Is there a cure?

No, not at all. My bike is an old dunger I've had for nearly a quarter of a century.

But I can't stop riding, and when I'm not riding I dream about riding.

No, because Black goes with everything
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Well the Hornet was black so the black and green helmet just worked..... the Ducati is, well Ducati red so very bright - the green is not doing it. I may need to seek internet assistance. And there is a work bonus due this month - presuming I have worked hard enough (f yes).

And I can see how day in day out doing it for a job takes the gloss off the addiction - bloody customers aye? Yet you need them to stay afloat ...... bloody customers.....

I'd then worry the chemicals would leach into the lid destroying it's ability to absorb a impact .......

Best purchase a new one surely .........

    It's a addiction after all :-)

Just buy a new helmet... the improvement to your state of mind will far exceed the cost.
Finding it hard to sell to the "bank manager"? Every cent of concentration you spend on important stuff like the colour of your helmet is no longer available for spending on not ending up in an ambulance.

You'll either say that out loud and think "God you can take the Honda away from the man..." or she will tell you to go buy it then. Possibly both.

    Dunno.
I ride my bike to work and back 5 days a week but hardly ever on the weekends so I don't really ride solely for fun. I know I'd hate commuting in a car though so perhaps I do enough during the week to keep the symptoms under control.

Yes...Ive been a junkie ever since I got my SL 70 nearly 40 years ago....
the only emails I get are thread alerts form bike related sites or from various online stores on whether I want to finish my order ....
Cure? No....not interested in a cure as going riding & the web ,are all the medication I need.

I even have accessories I've bought and installed, then replaced with a different one that's better.

I'm so far down the hole, that when the GSA needs replacing I'll likely buy another of the same spec so I can strip and swap between the bikes. Too expensive to get a new GSA and buy all new accessories for it

And yes, I have several pieces that are one off to suit the bike.

Re accessories... it's when you have an accessory hub for all the electrical stuff, then you have to buy a 2nd because you filled the first

And here's me feeling like a single USB port seems a little overwhelming.

    Currently have:
2x wiring for lighting on panniers and top box
    Baehr comms
    Ohlins
Dash surround (2x sockets, 1 cig, 1 bmw from memory)
2 GPS (1 has a USB port for charging)

Also have (not fitted but was)
    CB Radio
    Radar
wiring for extra lights on front
    probably others I've forgotten

I blame Allan for starting the thread... my addiction started there...
