I need to freight a 3 rails bike trailer from Dunedin to Auckland.
Any one done this before? Any ideas that won't break the bank?
Anyone driving up to auckland from there?![]()

No idea, but nice trailer - if you ever decide you dont need the ramp any more, sing out, I'm in desperate need of one!![]()
why on earth would you want a trailer and no ramp?
anyway, just get the seller to sneek up behind a truck or car that says 'I'm off ta Auckland' and hook it on. Then get him/her to tell you the details of it and hope they don't go round the back for the journey. Then when they get here, unhook the trailer, and they'll never know!!
Or, you could play 'pass-the-trailer' - someone in Dunedin drives it up so far, then passes it onto someone else, who drives it a bit further, who passes it onto someone else etc etc, then it'll eventually get here..
Noted.... it does come in handy aye!
or, you could find 3 people in the south who need bikes taken north (there seems to be an abundance on here at any given time), and split the difference on towing/gas/ferry
or try Jeffs in Chch
Thot of that mate but would have to rely on the hospitality of a whole lot of kiwibikers right through the country!Originally Posted by bugjuice
Hey.... maybe we could do this....
we hold a 'pass the trailer on' kiwibiker donation run and I'll donate a pre-determined amount everytime the trailer changes hands. How about that? The funds will go to spankme towards the upkeep of this site!
Hows that for an idea?
Any takers? I'll still make a contribution to spankme!Originally Posted by marty
