    My first crash

yeap fell off the vtz today after 2 months of having my license 1 month of having the bike and EXACTLY 500 kms (i read the trip clock when i got up, it said 500.1)

turned into a newly gravel sealed no exit street in petone did a u-turn and as i turned back out of the street i hit a patch of stones doing about 10-20 kms that were on the smooth seal street and lost the back wheel and landed on my right.

im fine, minor scratches and really sore knees. bike seems to be ok, mirror popped out and the brake fluid/brake handle unit has twisted around the bar. I put it back but it still feels weird and the mirror slips abit. also scratched the exaust fairly bad and cracked a plastic fairing under the bike

should the bike be ok? is it possible that ive bent the right hand bar when the bike landed on it?

Good to hear you are OK and that not too much damage was done.

It is my understanding, that if you drop your bike because of loose gravel caused by council not doing their work properly, you can hold them liable.
Just not so sure about HCC, but my folks used to work for WCC & that was the case.

If Wasp had already run over the gravelled road and was returning then he probably would'nt have much luck.

Get yourself along to TSS and ask them. They are pretty helpful but might be quite busy today.

Bummer Wasp, welcome to the club! Doesn't sound too bad, fortunately you weren't going that fast, but I've heard some pretty horrendous stories of riders falling off at low speeds too. Glad to hear you're not seriously injured, rest up!

I nearly went broke buying replacement stalk indicators for my RD250LC after little 20kmh offs like this, just don't let it throw your confidence, because a timid, and stand offish rider can sometimes be bad.
