Angry Fun Police at it again!

If this has already been posted... whatever.

Anyway, drove home from Dorkland tonight, hit the Karangahake Gorge and it's now 80km limit all the way thru!!! WTF? when did that happen? I rode thru there about 3-4 weeks ago and I'm sure it wasn't there then.

I can't see cars getting much over 80kms there anyway, particularily with the amount of traffic going thru there, so this has got to be directed at bikes.

I've heard of a few bikes going off thru there (remember a Harley went off after the paeroa races ealier this year) but this sucks arse!

BTW, if it's been an 80km area for the last few years, let me know and I'll cut down on the drugs. cheers

    everything is fucked, everybody sucks,
You don't really know why but you wanna justify ripping someone's head off

Was in the new a sort time ago,too much cage crashes. And it is not to police but transit. They seam to have no money to make our roads safe so they go out and put up signs and lower speed limits. Remeber when ther were passing lanes at meremere? Too many crashes and their fix was to make the road narrower and reduce the speed limit.
Last nights new on TV1, Transit says that there have no money to fix the maramura road, and the next article on the news was how the govment has such a big surplus because of larger tax take and not spending on health edcuation and road.

    The reason is simple,really.
Joe motorist is travelling close to 100 kmh now,so the revenue from fines has dropped.
The only option open to the Govt. is to reduce the limit to 80 kmh and thus increase the opportunity to issue tickets.

Ha bloody Ha to those who voted for the fuckers

The stupid and simple truth of the matter is that Transit/LTSA/whoever** think that by making the gorge an 80K limit, people will think it must be a dangerous bit of road and take more care. For once it has nothing to do with revenue raising, because as noted above, very few ever exceed 80 in the gorge, anyway.

If you dont want to work in this country, you dont have to.....good old Joe Bloogs down the road can pay for both of you to live through his taxes.
