    Buy Back Opportunity

Ok, If you're not already aware, I binned my baby the other weekend.

Got the phone call from the assesor today and repairs come to $16500 (including all plastic & tank). So obviously they're going to pay me out. I expect I'll get the choice to buy it back, and I'm very tempted to as I reckon I could pick up most of the parts needed off ebay and get some bits repaired/resprayed. I'm guessing I could get it back on the road for around $8K.

However, I've got enough projects as it is, and I'm looking at possibly moving to Aussie in the new year so it isn't really realistic for me to take this on. So I figured I might as well offer the opportunity to you guys/gals.

It's a silver 2004 Triumph Daytona 600, 10500kms, estimated retail: $12000. It's got a carbonfibre micron can, Crash knobs and a ventura pack rack,(comes standard with rear hugger and tinted "double bubble" style screen). I expect they'll want no more than $1500 for it. All damage is cosmetic except the front subframe (holding guages) and the crankcase cover. If you're prepared to be patient, picking up parts off Ebay and the internet, and get some parts (such as the tank) repaired and resprayed, you could have a very nice, rare bike for a great price.

I also have a number of damaged parts from when i dropped it a while ago including the carbon can pictured, that I get back from the shop in a month or so that you can have as well, plus the owners manual, Pillion seat and whatever else I've forgotten.

If anyone's genuinely interested, I can post a detailed list of the damaged parts, updated pics before the crash, and pics of the damage. Any questions welcome....

As I said, they haven't offered me the buy back yet, but I thought I'ld give you some time to think about it.

    My loss, your gain???

How did they get $16500 dollars worth of crash damage for what you claim is only cosmetic stuff.
The contents of this post are my opinion and may not be subjected to any form of reality

Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Yep still goes fine, I had the accident just out of coromandel, picked it up and rode it to the Coroglen pub where I noticed it was leaking oil thru a crack in the crankcase cover. So got it towed from there.

I'm saying you could get a damaged 2004 bike for an estimated $1500 cause I'm such a nice, thoughtful bastard....... Might throw in a box of piss on top of the price?

Triumph genuine parts are very expensive, and they quote full replacement on every slightly damaged part. (Hence why I recommend using ebay and repairing parts). for example: Indicator: $104, Nosecone:$1238, Tank:$1800ish, Tail fairing:$1800ish....... that's how!
