250 Vtwin Cruiser for 6"2 Fullah

Hi everyone. First post

Anway, been looking at getting a first bike. Don't won't a GN250 btw :P

Keen on a 250 cruiser to get to and from work but they all seem to have very low seat heights.

Seen mention of 5ft nothing people find Virago's comfortable which I guess means I would find it cramped. Shame that.

Are there any tall guys or girls out there on a 250 cruiser?

Yep I ride a Virago 250 cruiser and yes you are correct they are great for us shorties..


But in saying that I have seen some tall guys riding them as well..


I guess the best bet is to go into the bike shops and sit on all the 250 cruisers.

Yamaha Virago cruiser 250

Yamaha have another cruiser and it is bigger than the Virago..

Honda Rebel 250 - has a wider seat and the air filter boxes stick out heaps, so may help with your leg length..

Suzuki's Intruder cruiser's....

Kawasaki cruisers.


I have seen a bigger 250 Kawasaki cruiser out there..

You'll find damn near all 250 bikes cramped mate. Just have to deal with it till your full. Or modify it.

Found this just now, 250cc cruiser review.

Sounds like a Virago or Alphasport, aka Hyosung GV250 are the way to go. Not sure that I'm a fan of the GV250's flared wheel guards. Might be a Virago for me. Better get my learners first, then test ride them

If you're 6"2 which is around my height you're way to big for any 250cc Cruiser. The only 250 that fits my size is the GT 250.

However if you do decide to buy one of the two, I'd suggest the Hyosung GV250 and have the pegs exstended and the rear suspension adjusted to suite your weight.

Hmm. I must have crashe disease. I chime in with the same thing all the time when people ask this question. The 1998 onwards Honda VTR250 isn't a cruiser, but isn't nasty to tall people. I had a workmate who was about the same height as you, and he didn't look too uncomfortable on it. The earlier VT250 Spada and VTZ are quite low. The Suzuki Bandit 250 might work for you, but is a 4 cylinder and might not be so nice to 'cruise' on. Honda CB250? The Yamaha SR(n)250 group of bikes may be okay too. The Hyosung 250GT Comet thingamy might also fit you. A dual purpose (As is road and off-road) might suit you quite well.

No, not cruisers, but you don't have to lean forward too much either. Yes, the 250 cruisers are stupid small.

Yeah I know a Bandit would be sweet. Quite like them too actually, but really trying to focus on a Cruiser.

Hyosung brought out the GV250 Aquila (250cc Cruiser).. it's around the $6000 mark.. try checking that out.. um, not sure on bike shops in auckland, but they might have them at the one that sells Kawasakis

*Edit.. didn't see the above post about the GV250.. 6'2" and you can't fit on a 250? I'm 6'4" and I manage..

Any particular reason you are looking at a cruiser? Have you ridden any bikes before? Try before you buy is the biggest thing. AFTER you get your learners. While you're at it try a few other bike styles.

I'm 6'4" and I haven't bothered trying to fit a 250 that I'll only get rid of in less than a year.

Id have to say go with a hyosung gt250, im 6 foot 5 and all legs and i find it hard to ride or even sit on a 250cc bike. Heres a pic of the hyosung, start at around 6k i think, they should be fine for you.

Maybe he is a fuller bodied chap who might feel a little self concious on a normal style bike? I'm 6"2 + and i fit on an NSR!

I'd get the GT250. 250's dont cruise!
