    Nelson Rally 3-5th nov 2006

So whos up for this one??
Its being held at the same location as last year I believe, The Maitai Valley Motor camp, which is a great spot, been there before.

Didn't make it last year, but definately in for it this year...so else is keen. Possibly leave on friday arvo, so I can have a decent time up there.

I'll be there, going up on the Friday with far queue and co. This is a rally not to be missed (this will be my third) and is a great venue. Looking forward to it.

Hi, I am keen for this one, just trying to work out work and a couple of other things. Hopefully will have a better idea in the next week or so.

Never been to this one. It would be great to get to a few of the rally's this season.

yeah canvastown was awesome...been to a couple of those when they were at the old site up the valley, and gravel road. Excellant site, tho damn wet when i went one year...had to ride down what seemed to be a river into the campsite, that made me a little nervous at the time.

Think we will probably leave round the same time as far Queue and My sensible, tho maybe not quite the same route Would like to go thru the middle tho rather than the coast road... prefs anyone?

well now it wouldn't surprise me if you had

I was once there with my dad and both of my sisters, all on our own bikes... was very cool!! Think I went 2 or 3 times before they changed the site and then i wasn't able to go again for various reasons. I remember the gravel road cos I wasn't used to gravel and there was a LOT of it and hadn't had my 750 virago for very long and was VERY nervous...and THEN i was faced with trying to ride down this steep and VERY wet slope into the site...almost turned round and went home! But couldn't let the side down, so gritted my teeth and went for it...and survived!

    I'll be there

it will be a day trip for me, the other half has to work mornings, seeing as there will be booze and camping, I can't be sure we'd make it back in time, so its over to Nelson by the normal route, return via the lakes, any one want to do 350k on a 200?

that may have been the year i had a flat battery in my sportster and had to be pushed half way up the hill so i could get a push start down. wasnt much fun in the mud but when the bike got going it took off on me and the bike and i ended up lying down half submerged in a giant puddle.

hopefull the weather will be better at this rally

If I get my butt into gear and get the bike rego'd and a WOF, i might make it as long as you are happy to let my nana riding slow you down
