The facts behind Burgess and Rossi going to Yamaha

Here's some very interesting reading. Who knew this was going on at Yamaha? We kinda forget about the other pies these companies have got their fingers in and the powerplays that must go in the boardroom....

I actually feel sorry for Biaggi: battling Rossi in the mind games and trying to save face on a the bike he was given...he was doomed to fail.

Ha ha! Brilliant. I was fooled up to the 2nd half of the last page...
"...New Zealanders, for all their faults, have virtues that are precious: an unwillingness to be intimidated by the new, the formidable, or class systems; trust in situations where there would otherwise be none; compassion for the underdog; a sense of responsibility for people in difficulty; not undertaking to do something without seeing it through - "

Except for Lawson saying he did win the race for Rossi I do wonder just what went on at Yamaha and did Eddie have anything to do with it? We certainly know that Rossi and Burgess did make the bike a winner when no-one else could so there could be some truth in parts of this. I suspect the chassis and the engine needed work just like he said but I doubt the secrets of the details will ever be told.

Bloody good story all the same.

In Rossi's book he said he made the desicion on what engine they would use,
I cant remember the details though, but he was quite definate about his reasoning.
