    Ruapuna Have a Go Day

Hi, there is a Have a Go Day on at Ruapuna this Saturday (the 4th of September). Gates open at 7:30, $50.
There's a training day on the 5th November (this is a Friday). These are about $150 bucks, but you get a lot of laps in. I did one last year and clocked up over 160km on the track. Plus you get tuition from some good racers. Brian Bernard and Jonny Hepburn ran last years one.
The next Have a Go Day isn't until 16th April 2005.

The plan is that I will be there on Saturday for a wobble around provided the weather and my health (both of which have been crap lately!) hold up. I ride a silver/grey 89 FZR1000 EXUP. Come and say hi of youre there.

Yeah, will pop out in the afternoon sometime maybe. Bike isn't in the best state for track use.

Hey there k14, yo to everybody else.
im finally going to get my old clunker of an nc30 onto the racetrak this time.
its been gathering dust in the garage the last 5-7 years somthing. still doesnt have a speedo but who needs them eh?
i was told if i didnt manage to get it to the racetrak by this weekend the boys were going to come round and take it off me for being to pathetic.
mind you ive had to put on ... fairing, upper radiator, clutch cables, tyres, sprockets&chain, new battery, complete exhaust, home bent bits of alloy to mount the fairing. most of which i guess is just normal running cost i guess but it my wallet that takes the whomping :/

    Have a go day

Yep, I'm looking forward to this one. I've only been out there twice- once for a Have a Go Day with my old VFR700 which only had the engine put back in the day before after being off the road for 3 months, so I was rusty as. The other time was the training day last year with the FZR, which I have since discovered had the rear end way to hard and the front end way to soft, plus the recommended tyre pressures I was using were miles too hard- no wonder the back end kept braking loose, even with no power on......

I'll be out after lunch got to work in the morning and won't be riding, with a bit of luck there'll be a couple of the sidecar guys out there in the lunchtime so I'll be seeing if I can hitch a ride with one of them.

Been there done that, What a awesome day the weather couldent of been better for this time of the year and for down here.
Out of 4 races I did 3 on the VTR1000 and 1 on the Hayabusa. I managed 1sec quicker lap on the VTR as I'm more used to that than the Busa so I was taking my time on it around the back but sure as hell made up for it on the frount straight ......... damn that bikes quick and I now now that it can pull the frount wheel up at speeds over 100kph As for the VTR I held my own rather well passed every Duck in the group..... well thats the main thing aye
Heres a couple of photos there should be more to come as my camera isent the best at long distance.

ps: meet tonyB and saw K14 and put up with the usual shit from Kickaha (he realy wants a Honda)

Well I ended up playing flag marshall when I got there after work as they were short and the meeting wouldn't have continued without a few more volunteers.

Saw TonyB on the track but he'd dissapeared by the time I got to the pits so I didn't get to say Hi

So seeing as I had to stand out there for a couple of hours (and it was cold)and you didn't fall off in front of me so I could wave my flag and take the piss out of you I think you at least owe me a drink

    PS I don't really want a Honda

Flew down and got into chch at 3. After using some duct tape to repair some wounds on the cibby, I managed to get out to the track around 3:30ish.

Took some pics with my new digi cam

yeah i had a good time out htere on the skoda50(nc30) also.
i was a bit of a roadblock to be honest. only doing 2:20 a lap.
    a guy i timed in the a group on an nc30 did 2:00 , 1:57, 1:57, 1:56 so i have a bit of sanity to shed.
