Find your top speed: Wairarapa Sprints: 26/09/04

    .
    .

The Wairarapa Boys have organised two standing/flying quarter mile sprints.

Dates are Sunday 26th September and Sunday 28th November.

They will be held on the East-West Access Road in the South Wairarapa.

The event will be electrically timed.

Runs will be held individually for the flying and as match races for the standing (or individually).

There is approx 1.5km run-up for the flying so even the fastest bikes have reached their top speed before the timing lights. If you want to experiment with gearing, exhaust systems, jetting or aero-dynamics then this is the place.

Entry is $35.00 per rider for as many runs as can be fitted in between the hours of 9:30am and approx. 4:00pm (how long it goes for depends on how many riders enter).

There is no prize money (they may present a cup to the fastest rider). Road and racing bikes can be used. Riders do not need to hold a competition license.

Riders will be issued a racing number at sign on.

Entries will be accepted from 8:30am onwards, throughout the day.

A map and more information is available at :
    http://www.cdd.co.nz/sprint/sprint.htm

Spectators are welcome - entry is free for spectators.

Come along and have a look if you don’t want to enter….it’s pretty exciting sitting there a few metres away from a GSXR1000 rushing by at the best part of 300kph!!

    For fucks sake!

They always think it through so well. That's the same day as the Vic Club open day at Manfeild.

No Excuses now, The One. Let's see how fast that 924 really is...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I think I am supposed to be moving someone, but I wonder what the national 50cc record is? I thought about 140. Think I’ve got the gearing.

Though it doesn’t sound MNZ sanctioned does it?

That's the story! Hey, I wonder if my bucket will have arrived from Aussie by then? Where do I find the records for a 150cc machine?

I know what mine will be. 180km/hr flying 1/4. Terminal standing 1/4: 180km/hr.

I think I'll pop along in the hope that I'll get to see some liberated metallic components and some petrochemical products returned to the wild in gaseous and liquid form. I also want to see Mooch improve on his standing 1/4 times from last year.
