FOR SALE: 2005 Honda Hornet CB900

    GONE!!!

Don't tell the Kendogs but ... I want to have a go at making a sports-bike go quick so its time to sell the Hornet. This beast has given me some fantastic memories with no bother at all. It was my first big bike, I commuted on it, did weekend trips to Auckland, an East Cape trip, and friggin awesome trip around the SI. If it weren't for the desire to give SBs a go I'd keep it.

    • This bike has not been dropped. On my first ride I 'lowered' it gently to the ground when I was maneuvering it at 0kms/h. Very embarrassing but there was nothing more than a little scratch on the clutch cover.
    • Oggy-knobs.
    • Bike has never been raced. Its done 3 trackdays, but anyone will tell you that I'm a friggin nana on the track.
    • This bike has never been 'Maired'.
    • This bike has never been intentionally wheelied. The front wheel has only left the ground twice...both times were a complete surprise to me.
    • I bought it new in Feb 2006.
    • The headlights are Buell XB12S items with a carbon fibre screen. I have the original headlight unit still...I can convert it back if you want...but I reckon this look makes the bike.
    • Clear Alternatives clear plastic tail-light lens and LED brake-lights.
    • Rear tyre (Conti Road Attack) has about 5000kms on it, prob another 4000kms to go.
    • Front tyre (Conti Sport Attack) has about 7000kms on it, not a lot more left. Maybe 1000-2000kms. Depends on how hard you're pushing the front end.
    • Baffles have been removed and the bike sounds mean , has also been described as sounding 'feral'. Sounds great from idle and upwards.
    • Stock handlebar (bleh) has been replaced with a gloss black Pazzaz bar which gives the bike a more forward/lower position. Makes the bike feel sportier, takes the weight off your arse without putting weight on your wrists. Also allows you to drag your weight further over the front wheel for more focussed riding
    • The chrome Mickey-Mouse mirrors have been replaced with Hyosung ones. Due to the shape of the bars the mirrors are mounted on the bend so tend to stick up a bit...not an issue really. Bar-bend affects the levers a little too but I have never bothered replacing the bar and just dealt with it.
    • Paint is great. Tank has minor scratches, and the odd stone chip on the front. Bit of polish and it looks luverly ...tail unit has scuff-plastic stuff on it, but I'll take it off as its ugly.
    • Home made heated grips. Thermo-nuclear strength...can remove for buyer or upgraded with temp controller for no fee. I'm good like that!
    • Will have new warrant for purchaser.

Questions? PM me if interested. I'm pretty firm on this price as its what I need for my next ride.

So....want to own a sensible and very easy bike to ride that doesn't look sensible?

NOTE: stand not included. Buell indicators will be replaced with original Honda ones to get warrant (as Buell ones flash too fast). I will include 4x Buell indicators if so desired. They are much smaller, but not stupid small like some I've seen.

With all honesty I've never had a scary moment because of the bike's power. Very linear power delivery. Peak power is 105HP, less than some inline 600s.

    I went from riding a Hyosung 250 V-Twin.

Gonna be off KB for a bit...if anyone has any questions or wants to buy this gem then give me a PM or txt on OhTwoOne-2554245. Please make sure I know who you are via txt

If it doesn't sell when I get back I'll stick it on TM (bleh!) and subject myself to ridiculous questions

What you need is an SV650 owner that wants to trade up to a real bike then you could go out on the track and give Andreas the learn.

Forgot your after a Superbike right?

Mate, its tempting and have thought about it, but I would miss rides out on the weekend too much, not to mention being able to take the chick on holiday.

Bump bump...nearly sold it but due to insurance complications the bike wasn't sold oh well.

If it was sunny you'd buy this eh? Eh? How about some of these to get you in the mood?

    Still not sold yet?

Just asked the wife if she'd like it (she'll be ready for a big bike soon) but she wants something fully faired.

    Hey ho.

    Bump.
