Time to finalise a date for the Wild Waikato Wanderers.
After discussion with the crew on Clints ride, a choice was made for the end of Nov. After checking what events that I knew of (Burt Munroe etc), this above date has been chosen. I hope you can make it, and will post details as required.
    Cheers,
    Brent.

Bare with me while I fumble my way through the required details.

Awakino Hotel is happy to accommodate us. $45 per person, safe off road bike parking, and meals etc are up to you.
Contact# 06 7529815, mention that you are with the Adventure crew, and organise payment etc. Rooms are probably comfortable, basic units.

    Raglan Harbour Hotel.
Charge by the room, with various options,(single, twin, family etc ranging from $60/room through to $120+).
    Contact# 078258010.

Please register on the calender thread, and post your attendance here.
I will atempt to answer most questions, but I type like a retard, so don't expect much.
Below is a basic map. Book accom early, as both pubs are very popular.

    wonderful waikato finally!

Sweet, sounds awesome brent! with the .doc I can figure out some of the sections of the ride, the map that you posted isn't much help though. Could you try saving it to higher res?

I'll have to contact the rest of the jafa team from the last wwwww invisible nick (now gingabiker), crisisman, any others?

    later,
    Windboy.

I've tried to segment the map for a better view. This is the basic layout, but as we know, routes can be changed over a beer on the nights.
Probably 70% of the ride will be gravel, with only some of it being a bit challenging. This might encourage somepeople to give adventure riding a go. It wont be a "Blood and Guts " type of ride, social, enjoyable weekend, at comfortable night stops, similar to the Whangamomana weekend(hopefully without the rain).

The road down the coast from Marakopa only has about 20km of metal now (not the 47 as per map). Take a diversion out to Waikawau beach. The tunnel to the beach is quite cool.

How about the SI passes ride? You keen enough for that? I reckon you would have enough brownie points to knock out for a week. You could fly the missus to CHCH for $39 on virgin in Feb (just in case you struggling)....

Gingerbiker is keen and so am I.... Brent?

Tempting, I must admit but it looked like a couple of weeks away to do that and I can't find the time in Feb for that. (got a month off in march so have to work before that.....)
I'm hoping it is something I can do in a couple of years as it looks like the sort of ride that should be held annually.
Have you got this dakar yet?

SI might just be a possibility for me. Would be good to see some of its passes.
    Definitely probably.

    Hey there

Good work on the next Adventure Assault

I may have to miss this one though as we are probably heading down to the Burt Munro rally the weekend before and were going to take our time back

I will let you know once I have finalised our plans
