    greymouth street race

hi guys, just a reminder to those riders that havnt entered yet that time is running out, the fields are limited to 35 bikes per class so dont miss out.

news letters will be going out to riders to give you an update on whats happening and where all the money go's from your entry fee. We gave around $8000 to various charities last year however the local council has had querys as to where the money from the entry fee go's and why riders have to pay to race while spectators watch for free?

Simple: Some of the large nationwide retailers within the street race circuit have threatened to oppsose the road closure if their customers have to pay to shop at their store on race day. it only takes one opposal from a retailer and its game over. So if your a spectator and want to donate to the cause then feel free to buy a $5 program or flip a gold coin in to the donation boxs which will be around the circuit this year.

    cheers, steve

cheers steve... all done, cheque cashed so I guess its all go. So we will getting something in the mail soonish then? Cant wait... I think
First greymouth for me so you better get me a decent sized yellow shirt, I dont want one of those oversized things the guys had last year, got any mediums around?
And purple would be nicer than yellow but I guess I cant have everything eh?

hey guys, good stuff, just had a commitee meeting tonight, things are coming togeather rather rapidly. the big news for today is that our organizer has struck a deal with a production company and the Grey Street race will be televised on either tvnz, prime or sky. a Half hour segment to be played several times during the year much like what the battle of the streets have. so thats good for us.

come on Rashika, ya got to love that yellow t shirt, yellow is the second fastest colour in the world, thats why they make red and yellow ducati's aint it??

Dangerous: acceptance of entry will be posted out after the 6th of october.

the number priority is up to the descression of the grid committee. Its basicly a first in first served system with preference to those who are regular competitors.

after that the system we use is roughly as follows:

1: mnz reserved number ( varified by mnz if we have a number clash)
2: date of entry arrival ( recorded by entry offical)
3: number of times at greymouth
4: if you have 1 or 2 bikes (easier to change stickers on 1 bike)
5: distance travelled (reward for those who make the effort)
after that its pretty much toss a coin.

So get ya entry in soon as possible to ensure ya get the number you want!!!

    cheers, steve

just to let the MOTARD boys know, i had a quick flick through the entrys tonight and we have a fair few motards already entered. Some motards have requested BEARS and FIII. I know its a sore point and it is a bastard but due to safety, the tight nature of our circuit and the new MNZ 900mm max bar height rule, we are not permitted to run a motard bike in any class other than Motards. A motocross derived chasis can not run with road machines. This is an MNZ ruleing and was emphasised on the rider entry so that the riders knew before entering rather than have a repeat of what happend in nelson last year. Im not here to field complaints or enter into the motard debate, im just trying to make it easier for us when sorting entries. saves a lot of heated phone calls.

we had to allow for 2 motard classes, as our max grid as enforced by MNZ is 35. we had over 40 enter last year.

So if you want to ride in 2 classes you will have to bring another bike.

    cheers, steve.

the number priority system we use is roughly as follows:

1: mnz reserved number ( varified by mnz if we have a number clash) hmmm they dont do race numbers for buckets, nor post classic I dont think?... at least there is no option to tick for F4 when you get your licence
2: date of entry arrival (recorded by entry offical)
musta been one of the first there this time
3: number of times at greymouth
zilcho unless you count being the first to 'crash on the circuit before racing' last year?
4: if you have 1 or 2 bikes (easier to change stickers on 1 bike)
    2 bikes=2 classes
5: distance travelled (reward for those who make the effort)
hmmm halswell is a fair way but could come via Invergiggle
after that its pretty much toss a coin.

So get ya entry in soon as possible to ensure ya get the number you want!!!

Is that sort of like saying the "Cheque is in the mail" or a veiled way of sending Dangerous his appearance money ?
