Went and checked out this bike this evening, with a view to buying. Pretty stock standard, apart from a Yoshimura pipe, and seemed reasonably tidy apart from a ding in the tank where another bike had fallen over on it (according to the seller). Took it for a test ride (absolutely loved it, but that's another story), and discovered that the front brake was reasonably obviously damaged - bad vibrations and shuddering under braking, clearly it's warped or damaged in some way. Pity really, but anyway...
What I was hoping someone would know is - how much would it cost (as an educated guess, I don't mind) to replace both front discs, labour inclusive (so the work would be under warranty), and what causes discs to be so badly warped? Crashes? Age? Large hammers?
I'm not seriously considering buying it, mainly because of the brake discs (though the ding in the tank didn't help matters), but am curious for future reference - otherwise it went really well and sounded very very good (ta Mr Yoshimura, love your work) etc.
