I've been a part of Kiwibiker for awhile now, and I've met a lot of people through this place. There are good people and bad wherever you go and this place is no exception. I've had the pleasure of riding with a few of them too. I am unashamed to say I have a lot to learn, but thankful there are so many good people to learn from. There's a lot to learn too. All the good stuff like cornering, and throttle control, and weight distribution but one of the best things I've learnt is, to ride. Just for the joy of riding.
Who's the Ridiest rider (thanks for the phrase Unit) I know? GI Joe1313 - Justin. Chances are you'll see him one day soon. He's covered something like 97,000 kilometres in the last year. On a 250. This guy epitomises riding for pleasure. I've never seen him with out a ready smile, or too far from his bike. He snores like a freight train full of chainsaws (that's probably why he rides instead of sleeping) and should never be given too much "V." He has one of the best attitudes to biking I've ever come across. My personal favourite experience with him? When he turned up to my Mum's place with a packet of chicken wings and couldn't leave because the coppers decided to have a checkpoint across the road (He was still on his learners or restricted or something - after 10:30pm) so we sat on the deck and talked shite while eating chicken wings. I could see he was itching to get back on his bike and ride. He did after they'd left - went to Northland or Taranaki or something before arriving at the Busa's place the next day to celebrate New Years!
I don't know anyone who has ridden more. The best thing is what he's taught me. Ride because you like it. Cheers to GI Joe1313 "The Ridiest rider I know"
