    Talking Mike's new bike!

Picked up my new SV today.... was a bit of secret for a while. But all sorted now.

The FZ6 I took for a blat from bayride was at the top of the list in terms of bikes I had taken for a test ride.... but the sound of a V twin barking through a Scorpion pipe blew away the thought of it!!! hahaha

Im definately keen on modding it a bit, its only got the scorpion on it atm. But a seat cowl tinted screen etc would make it that much better in my eyes. (I'll be getting rid of the pillion handle on the back probably tonight or tomorrow night - some of us work on sundays)

A few things ive noticed on it so far.... its really reluctant to dive into corners unlike my GSX which I expected anyway. The seat is just superb compared to the shit on the newer SV's (Ive taken both models out and prefer the older ones - Not just on the seat....)

So heres a few pics (whoever starts threads like this without photos should be shot.)

Thats my GSX behind it, which is now up for sale. Ill put up a thread about that either tonight or tomorrow....

    Sweet ride dude

    Congrats
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

    Very cool man, but yellow?!

Congrats on the new bike!! I always did kinda prefer the old 'curvy' faired Sv's the the new 'pointy' ones, the pointy's still look shit hot tho!! the SV's might need a bit of work getting into the corner but the feeling of 200+kgs of bike and rider twisiting up into the sky on exit more than makes up for it! and that sound... need i say more?

Just don't get off it while doing the skids

Nice bike - congratulations on the purchase. Quite a bit different from the 750 you were looking at though...

    Sweet

I prefer the earlier curved style (like yours) on the SV/TL range - just a personal thing. I always thought it would be cool to take one and turn it a bit old school cafe style - hump seat, cafe half fairing, long megaphones, chequered flag down the tank etc.

Check out ebay for parts for the 650's - there is a huge amount of bits as they are a popular racing class overseas.

Re turning - if the tyres are good you could drop the forks in the triples a bit - do it in small amounts 3-5mm max at a time - and check clearance with the front guard/wheel first.
