    Mitas E07 and 08: pressures

No details on the Mitas website. What pressures are you running on- and off-road?

    Thanks

High 20's/30 ish on road and 20 ish off road. Can't go much lower off road without rim locks (which I'm guessing you dont have).

Sounds similar to what I'm currently running. I thought that, being crossplies, they'd want a little more pressure. Do you run a little less in front?

    Thanks

    Hi ya,
29F & 33R. Just the normal recommended pressures for my bike. Seem to do OK. Cheers.
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Yip - EO9 is similair to TKC80, where as EO7 is between that & road tyre.
If you are going off road at all, fit the EO9. They handle surprisingly well on road as well.
Road noise not bad, nothing like a knobbly on my bikes anyway.

I have E07's on the Transalp, they're... um... quite LOUD. They howl at anything over 40km/h, I think it sounds cool. This in addition to being excellent both on seal and gravel, reasonably priced and apparently lasting forever (although I can't confirm this). I run around 18psi F and R off road, and 30 F & R on road.

    Cheers

I didn't find them loud on the DR.
Not saying you're fat or anything but I wonder if it's a weight issue?

    - fat tranny (always wanted to use that smiley LOL).

The tranny in question is well traveled (been round the block a few times) and has done a few KM's on E09's.

Nope, I agree with Nordie, I do not consider the E07s to be loud either.
They may produce some noise compared to a more roady tyre but I've run others that are a lot louder.
I could/can never hear the E07 noise out of town. All i hear then is wind and because of the wind noise I do wear earplugs most the time and always out of the 50km/hr zones.

As he said, SkinnyBirdman hasn't had the Transalp long enough to wear out a set of E07s, before he got it I always ran it with E07s once I discovered them, or knobs like the E09.
If I am not putting proper knobs on my bike then the E07 is my compromise tyre of choice.

    Surely you jest?

But seriously it could be the additional weight of the bike. I don't think anything on the bike is slogged out eg. bearings and such like, to make the noise I am hearing.
