Honda Hornet 900 upgraded suspension

OK, I am now ready to sell the mighty hornet.

Is anyone interested in buying my Ohlins shock, and my Race Tech upgraded front forks. The idea would be to swap your stock forks for my modified forks, and you buy the shock. From memory the shock was $1400 (it is the non remote reservoir version, fine for the street). The forks were rebuilt by Robert Taylor about 1000km ago, have RaceTech emulators and springs and stuff cost was around $800 I think.

These mods were the best money I have ever spent upgrading any bike. My new bike will have the same mods carried out as well.

It wont make any difference to the price of the bike if I leave it in place, but it gives an opportunity for someone to cheaply reap the benefits.

Fork and shock are sprung for a 75-80kg rider.

Thinking around the 999.99 mark for both? but I will need your good condition forks to swap.

Stink! I'd be keen on your forks, but my bike has already had the Ohlins treatment so doesn't need the rear shock. BUM!

So a few days have past and today I finally got on the bike fully set up.

Last night with Warr’s direction I installed the forks from HenryDorsetCase. Some mucking about making tools, and then breaking tools ended the night with the forks on, but I wasn’t 100% happy that everything was torqued up properly.

Also, after some discussion with Warr, I discovered I didn’t have the necessary tools to install the rear shock.

So I made the decision to ride *carefully* into town in the morning, and get assistance.

So this morning I dropped the hornet and the ohlins shock into Honda Hamilton.

Picked up this afternoon, paid a measly $96 for installation, and checking my work on the forks, and packed the OEM shock in my bag. … coolness

I did a quick flick over the divi just to see if there was a big difference or not.

It may be all in my head, but it certainly seems better .. I’ll have to do some more testing this week

Aw shucks, you're welcome. I hope it works out for you. As I said, I thought these were the best value for money mods Ive ever done to a bike. The difference is JRA small bump compliance, but also the ability to suck up braking input and still feel what the tyre was doing was amazing. Totally recommend Robert Taylor/Crown Kiwi as suppliers and for their after sales service.
