    Akl Westie ride 26-02

k, me n Limmy are heading out west for a couple of hours or so. Meet at the car park behind Repco in New Lynn at 10am, then head up to Titirangi onto Scenic Drive, along to Piha, grab a drink and reflect, then back to Scenic Drive, and keep going along, might turn off to Bethals Beach for that road too, then back to Scenic drive along to Henderson/Swanson and see what from there. Some can split and head off, else might just head back along Scenic Drive to Titirangi then on..

Be a slow-med pace, more of a cruise really. Be good for newbies and anyone wanting to see the sights (but concentrate on riding!!)..

    Any takers?

    Brief details:

Repco @ 10am, going down scenic drive for a couple of hours

I'm sure Limmy could catch up with anyone at the Caltex in Mt Welly, and I can do the usual Cyclespot over the shore, say around 9.30 at both places, then Lim and I have arranged to meet at the Placemakers at the back of Vic Park (Cook St??) at 9.45, then onto Repco at 10, so anywhere along that route is sure to be fine..

then, probably a bit like me, you'll either have to stick in 1st gear, or do a lot of waiting at the end..
Or just try this slowing down thing.. not sure on it myself, and rarely works, but I'll give it a go..
If enuff big bikes wanna go, then could split into 2 I guess..

yeap. would be great if a few more 250s can come a long. that way i won't be the only one that's always left behind. Would be great to meet some other newbies as well cause the few times I've been out with the KBers most of them are quite experienced and way out of my league.

    NEWBIES UNITE!!

I'd come, but I will be pushbicycling at that time. If for some reason I'm not, I may turn up and show y'all what the headlight of a Zeal looks like when it's getting smaller in your mirrors.

Don't listen to him! Don't be sucked in - he's obviously using the Two Smoker line about how slow he is!
Viva Vee and I went riding with him yesterday, and he most definitely was not slow.

"Poor, poor me - I'm just an old grannny and I ride really, reaalllllllly slow."

    Yeah, right!

you might be quicker than Limmy, so you might get bored waiting.. I've always got a tow rope

the more 250s the better, but the odd bigger bike wouldn't go amiss, so I don't stick out like a sore thumb!

Sure, if you're at the back of the group.

Anyway, I probably won't be there, so it won't matter.

As you head down through Waitarua towards Swanson there is a 50 limit that starts after the Te Henga/Bethells turn off.
