So yea... riding into uni on the north western today, no L plate, ne rego and no warrant.

JUST paid for new sprockets, chain and brake shoes and was going to get a new rear tyre from cycletreads this weekend as I had to wait for cash, then get me warrant etc and BAM!!!

Yet ANOTHER $800 fine. And what's worse it is from the SAME cop who gave me the first $800 fine! Must have it in for me.


So yea, I've decided to save up a bit of cash over the next month or so and get something bigger. Sitting my restricted either in the weekend or next week so at least I'll have that.

My question is.... anyone got smoething a little bigger for around the $2000 - $2500 mark? Will take me a little while to come up with the cash, got $500 at the moment. can't be fucked spending MORE money on my bike... figured if I''m gonna get fines I might aswell get them riding something bigger. I saw FROSTY's z750 but that's a little out of my price range for now.

Not really, you have 28 days to get the bike WoF'd, rego'd, and then you can write in and ask to be let off the WoF and Rego fines.

The cop is stopping you because he think's you're riding an unrego'd, unwof'd bike. Get your shit sorted.

Also, ride with the L plate. It does you as many favours as the respect that it loses you.

Finally, don't be a dick, ride the 250 until you have the experience to ride a larger displacement bike.

If you can't afford to keep your bike in warrantable condition, regoed, WOFed, and insured then you should prolly stick to a pushbike.
You could always take the $500 and use it to get your current bike up to standard.
That cop probably has it in for every slow learner....fancy fining you for breaking the law.

Well, thing is I'm broke as fuck. JUST got some cash. I'm a student man, so $260 for a rego and shit is pretty hard if you can only just manage to pay for the parts. Hasn't been rego'd since last september... so I don't like my chances of getting of on that. I'll try on the liscense though.

I ride with the L plate off cos that's what made me get pulled over the first time... riding on the motorway at 80k with an L plate....

and madbikeboy... I've been riding for over 2 years now, and I'm definitely outriding the TU250 by now... Just haven't had the cash to pay for my restricted. Ahhhh life...

Yea, last time I got the fine I was actually in the process of getting it warranted and rego'd and got it the next week. didn't know I could write in a tell them I'd gotten it though... so ended up paying for it (still paying it off).

Last fine was over a year ago, I have had it road legal since then. Fuck it, i'll just tell them to add it on to the ones I'm paying off.
