    Now that explains alot.

Last weekend I was riding back to Auckland from RotoVegas and I got stopped by a cop just outside of Cambridge.
I wasn't speeding, not drunk or stoned the bike is reg and warranted, I had my licence on me e.t.c. (model citizen)

I asked the cop why he pulled me over and he said "Oh just a routine check".

He gave the bike the once over and asked me a dozen stupid questions like... "where ya goin, Where ya been??"

The funny thing was, while he was carrying out his roadside interogation the wind flipped his hat onto the road which was immediately run over by the next car.

I stood staring at the cop trying soooo hard not to burst out laughing. The wind carried his hat a hundred meters down the road and he left me to go and retrieve it. Presuming my roadside meeting had finished I geared up and buggered off.

    Not even with yours!!!

I swear I had to bite my tongue soooo hard.

I think the smirk slapped across my face was indication enough for the copper to get the point.

The correct answer to 'where are you going' etc. is, none of your business. Name, address, D O B and vehicle owner only.

there's a difference to being friendly and being an asshole thou lou. if i was a difficult or rude prick to a higway cop at 10am, during a routine licence or breath test (which they are legislatively entitled to do) and you were the next bike along at 111km/h at 1015am - guess who's gonna wear the $80 ticket, and why. thought you would have known that.

as an aside, how many bikers on here have had 111 - 115km/h tickets on their bikes, as opposed to in their cars? (not camera tickets)

You may be right, but after getting pinged for 117km/h on passing lanes even after I was nice to him, my attitude now is 'stuff them, if they want to persecute us for revenue'.

so how is being a difficult prick gonna make the ticket feel any better again? it definately will make the cop think only once about giving the next biker a ticket for fuck all.

so where in nz was the 117 on the pass lanes?

Last year, the short cut to Cambridge via Gordonton. 111km, and the dick gave me a $150 ticket. all nice to him as well. should have just been an ass hole to him so his day was as shitty as mine.

On the passing lanes approaching Waitara, Taranaki. I passed an old duck who had kept me at 80km/h for the previous 10 km. Sure enough, when we reached the passing lanes she sped up to 100. Think the cop gave a shit? No way, just another one to fill the quota. So screw them. If the odd good cop gets treated bad, thats because there's so many wankers in the force.

115kmh Southern motorway 2pm light traffic weekend.

He was very friendly telling us he was a bike rider also, but he was being forced into giving out tickets.

He was by himself and alledgedly followed us and clocked our speed on his speedo.
