I can relate to the low motivation, I was going to get the tag yesterday but that was just too much to ask. Not looking forward to the early morning ride tomorrow just to get to work, that is why I had to have a pleasure ride today.

That's life when you do big miles on a 20yo british bike, I still love her though. In fairness I've been nursing a kinked speedo cable since I've owned the bike but some idiot tried to move my bike while the disk-lock was on and wrecked it beyond repair.

its a very sweet ride, smooth and easy. I need to practice the low speed stuff more, was getting on to that with BMW but this is 60kg more and at times you can feel it!
LOL TT, I have heard them called an old mans bike. Dont know, dont care! I like this one. 1of6 will get his Goldwing eventually, no way I will top that:msn-wink:

stump puller indeed, the stories about the torque on those things is all true. This one came with a Scorpion can so it burbles away nicely too. I took it for a run up the Rimutukas today. Fastestestest I have ever done that road, more to the point, fastestestest I have ever come back down!

Ordinarily I would be glad to help out a poor student, Mr Motomart however might not be so happy, he took the Bavarian in nipple pink as my trade in for the real bike. It appears to have been onsold and is currently on Trademe, you could try negotiating!

yes, thats the one, bit steep isnt it? No they didnt give me that. I got $4k trade which I was happy with. I told them there was an intermittent stalling problem. They werent that bothered. The bike is a low kms LAMS BMW, will command pretty decent prices. I have seen them in Motomart and TSS for a lot more than that ($7k+ in TSS) I am unsure about the story with that listing though, either the seller on TM is a staffer from Motomart or they sold it really quickly and the guy who bought it is pretty pissed off with his son now! :facepalm:

The price he's asking might be reasonable if you were buying from a dealer with the associated guarantee but I'm bloody sure I wouldn't be handing over that amount of cash to some random guy for an unknown bike. Particularly when Red Baron have one with similar mileage and $300 cheaper! Some people are dreamers...

well I am glad I got the BMW moved on and much happier it was to a dealer so he could sort anything out. I think my timing was just right. They had two suzukis which had been traded against a Ducati. A 650Vstrom and mine. I think as a non-Suzuki dealer they were keen to move on those bikes and I had a decent BMW to trade which they can always sell/stand over/fix much easier than any Suzuki.

Speaking of TSS I have come away with a 2014 model, with an upgraded can, a Scott Oiler fitted and working well and only 3000kms on the clock, its had its run in and the tyres scrubbed, I still have 18 months of factory warranty. All this for over $3.5k less than the 2012 GSX listed on the TSS website, plus mine is black, way cooler!!!
Maybe I was diddled, who knows, I think its luck of the draw with these things. This time I think the dice went in my favour.

was with a wee mate on Sunday on an abortive attempt to go for a ride with him. His wee 250 packed in just past Kaiwharawhara on the motorway.
I reckon every single biker going in both directions waved or gave a thumbs up as we stood at the side of the road. They didnt stop and fix it though :laugh:

They used to make thick shakes so thick, you almost couldn't suck it up the straw, and the straws were the fat ones.

I see my mistake now. I knew I had to get those two fences so parked between them and had to park up hill to stop it rolling off the stand, whereas Spider parked at the top of the slope and the fences are in the background. I know what you mean, $100 for something you hope you'll never use vs scottoiler, hot grips, new boots, tyres, chain, sprockets, braided lines etc. It's cheap insurance for an expensive whoopsie though.

just priced some on fastbikegear $350+, and yeah UK about the same for 1250FA. A hundy I would do but I am getting into helmet replacement territory and three hundy gets awfully close to a helmet price and you can replace a couple of parts for that.

They are only the frame knobs, which are only an assistance and will not give the bike the full protection so a drop is still going to possibly cause damage. If the 350+ included engine protectors or bar ends or something else it would be more attractive. I might try to find an alternative.

I'll go with the bus stop description, Fieldway at William St, except it is the beach carpark, not the bus stop :-)

You have to get a good angle from just up the road a bit. No SV in the parking lot. Bike dropped off for wof, fingers crossed...

don't be shy if you spot us come and say hi. Kate has pink ribbons on her tied in bows, if they last the ride and UK can stand to be near them, he doesn't know what he is riding with until he sees it tomorrow lol.
