Naaaaa what we are really doing is Glen is racing in the support races for the GP weekend so Glen thinks we are going there to see him :laugh:. You have turned down a real classy ride!! The GN is red therefore it goes fast (ish) - until you get to a hill. It has a nice spongy seat - no sore ass. Suspension is also nice and spongy. Gets better km/litre than mr berg's er6. The second most important bits are the brakes - no fancy late model bits here! The most important bit is the invisible givi screen - it allows the rider to experience the full effect of those strong head winds, while dropping 5 - 10kms from the max speed.

15 minutes into a quad ride on Saturday at Taupo saw Mr B lying on the ground paralysed. Two helicopter rides later, he is currently in Waikato hospital. Fortunently, the paralysis hasn't been permanent and he has regained most of the function back. He has been cleared of a spinal injury, although there is some swelling around some nerves and will be in a collar for a couple of weeks. He has got up for the first time today - walking like he is pissed. The one thing that literally saved his life was his spinal support.

MRS B, that is Horrible news but thank heavens recovery is on its way.
Our Best Wishes to you both and here's hoping that the discomfort and disruptions to normality pass quickly and Mr B is back in the saddle before the summer months are through.

Very sad to hear Mr Berg is damaged, but pleased it's not permanent. Please pass on wishes for a speedy recovery, but tell him he doesn't need to rush for the tags until he's totally better.

Thanks for all the messages of support. Mrs Berg and I flew home today. Lots of recovery to do but things looking positive. The crash involved speed, wet clay, a ditch and a momentary talent failure:facepalm:. Ended up lying on my back with no feeling or mobility south of my neck which I will admit was the single most scary thing that has ever happened to me.
Things have improved on the mobility front and I can now walk and have most of my normal hand and arm movements. ATGATT saved my life as the spine in my 661 core saver soaked up a huge part of the impact:yes:.
We will keep you all advised of progress and I hopefully will be back out riding soon.

Argh. It's been just over a week and I'm already hanging out for a ride:scooter:
Won't be allowed back on a bike for a few weeks at least as the right hand is still very slow to respond but I'm flat out doing exercises to improve it:apumpin:
The main thing I can pass on from this experiance is "never shortcut the good gear" If it wasn't for what I was wearing I would not be on the recovery road. Even Mrs B has had a winner from that as I shouted her a new Shoei at Motomarts sale yesterday. Better safe than sorry. Be safe out there all:niceone:
