Neither have any of those (likely tens of thousands of people been subject to serious consequence of contracting covid (i.e no more than a week or three of moderate misery similar to the flu).

We were all walked up to the red line by our state and they crossed it.
We lived our moment of fear that at on any day the police could knock on our doors and force a jab on us, force you out of work, force you to comply. And they threatened our children.

I forgot the tragically sad vitriol of social media posters gleefully hoping for my failure and wishing hate and harm on my family.
I forgot the many confrontations in our shop.
I forgot my son being physically attacked by staff and security at a local supermarket for not wearing a mask.
That one of my employees 'coincidentally' lost the baby she carried just after her jab.
That people in my circle died suddenly of cancer or of another's rapid decline into dementia.
That my daughters lived in fear of their children being taken from them if they didn't take the jab.
That other business publically followed my lead and did lose their businesses, their life savings. People were destroyed.
That the state showed itself as not of us, but of them.
That, the mass hate and mistrust that entered our lives then, hasn't left.
That family denounced me.
That friends became few.
I have forgotten so many more moments like these, which, by their number become so commonplace as to be unremarkable and as such, forgotten.
Then the thought creeps in, perhaps I have become accustomed and accepted this new normal. Have I?
No I have not, but...
I forgot.
I forgot that I told myself, never again.
That I turned towards the trouble, not away.
That we will be crushed in the next crisis, if we don't prepare today.
I forgot that I will not let my grandchildren's future be stolen from them. I forgot that I am among allies and friends and heroes.
