Nice Duc
My Ducati 250 is slightly older than that, but not a scrambler unfortunately.
That scrambler is a wide case motor so would be made somewhere between '68 and about '72, mine was made in '66 or '67.

I think you guys need to look up the definition of "cool"
cool
adj. cool·er, cool·est
[Middle English cole, from Old English cl;]
Cool is an aesthetic of attitude, behavior, comportment, appearance and style, influenced by and a product of the Zeitgeist. Because of the varied and changing connotations of cool, as well its subjective nature, the word has no single meaning
Antonyms: Uncool, KLR650, KLR650 owner.

Hold on a a second is he doing the Dakar (Agentina) or the Hero's Legend (the real Dakar)? Stickers suggest the latter.
Also the publicity shot for the start of the Paris - Dakar with the tower in the background would suggest the European / North African common or garden variety rally

I used to own one in 1994. Looked damn cool & more fun than a fistful of firecrackers  But coming off a CG125 anything was gunna be better! it I never really liked the way it handled on gravel, felt a bit top heavy, but I only ever had road tyres on it & I couldn't ride for shit on gravel then anyway. On twisty tarseal it was glorious, heaps of grunt for a 250, delivered nicely via the YPVS, good brakes, real easy to ride fast through corners. Not so flash for touring, 130km ish tank range & by that stage your arse needed a break from the seat anyway.
The TZR based engines were apparently a total handgrenade though, mine lunched itself 2 weeks after I sold it.
Cheers

Check out the angles of the conrods, they reach tdc at different times so are slightly offset.

I don't think they do. I think they reach TDC at the same time & some trickery is done at the crank.
Some are twin sparked as well. Check them out on Wiki.

If you open up a photobucket account (it's free & as far as I know there's no malware attached) you can upload pics onto it - it uploads from the web & your hard drive - you can then paste the image code straight onto your post.
That way the big pics show up in one post & not individual thumbnails.
I find the easiest way is to open up a different tab & transfer between the two.

Ahem. Donning my anorak for a moment....maybe /5 frame, headlight / speedo / tach, running gear, sidepanels, /5 rear alloy turn signals, & /5 cigar type mufflers, /6 engine, /6 rear mudguard, split in the /2 style, with a /2 tail light. Koni shocks, bar mounted hella (type) front signals. Twin ATE front brakes, braided brake lines, San Jose (style) fork brace, Lester Mags (as previously mentioned). Police style tank with tool box. The tool box cover, sidecovers, & the R90/6 emblems have either been sand blasted or painted for a matt alloy finish. Brown sidestand. Oil temp dipstick. Bloody nice looking custom single seat. Under bar mirror. Have I missed anything?
Want
i was wondering if you would come and elaborate...
the /2 tail light is longer and straight, not bend...and i remember having seen one like that with the same mudguard on a non bmw

Here's the link (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51879&page=145) to some more photos
The owner doesn't say much about it. He notes that the tail light is modified & is off an R67? but repacked with LEDs.

ProGrip 714 Rally.
Wider than normal grips.
I've got a spare set somewhere. I put them on the XR250 for a race and got arm pump badly in the practice laps and pulled them off. I've now worked out, getting arm pump in practice is normal for me
