    my own fault really.

It's hard to have some privacy for that private-moment-behind-the-bushes in the bike park.

Turn off to the right just before Muriwai township. That takes you to the stream access. There's a carpark n stuff.

Up and over the dune (routes obvious) , and onto the beach. Turn right and keep riding. Once you get past the cliffs turn inland over the dunes.

Beware. There are cops patrolling the beach. They seem to turn a blindish eye if you are sensible, but YMMV. There is some VERY soft sand in those dunes. And watch the tides, make sure you don't get caught in the cliff section on an incoming tide. DAMHIK.

Oh, and watch out for low flying aircraft, you just might end up a target. Though I've never seen them drop anything that actually exploded - rather boring actually.

Yeah, They used to drop all sorts of bombs on it.
I wouldn't ride all the way up the beach. Too boring. Plus cops will give you no wof, no reg and no license on you tickets.

I was told some of the bombs haven't exploded yet. So if you venture too far in towards the range you might just blow up.
Or if you want to run through the forest there's hunting in most of those blocks so you'll get shot at by rednecks.

Maybe the Sandpit is not a bad idea.
Or the Pussy pounder trail ride at Riverhead?

why not just go ride up and down queen st? - its just as legal and probably more fun than riding on the beach for miles

I was told it illegal to ride there, and would also fuck it for everyone else.

If we get banned from woodhill that means no more bike park, wmcc events, dead toad races, 2man series, etc. Maybe someone could confirm, but I thought this is would could happen if to many people keep riding illegally out there.

the bombing range is kickass, if the winds been blowing right youll find sum really fun jumps, ride all day and not cover the same track twice, ive probley been there 30 times over last 5 years and havent once got in trouble from anyone nor seen any so called bombing, a whole buch of army guys rolled out of the bush not far from where we were camping once and just said to be wary of them as they practicing blank firing they didnt care at all, it takes about 30mins from muriwai just time the tides right

Not that exciting up there. If you go don't get hurt, it's a long way from anywhere and the cellphone coverage is a bit sketchy.
