The transalp is 214kg although that is with a full tank & ready to roll.
KLR is claimed @ 175 kg the same as a G650 G/S BMW.
The F650 G/S (twin) is claimed to be 171kg dry.
Suzuki's DR 650 is claimed to be 166kg dry.

We weighed a couple of IMS tanked DR650's wet at around 150kg.

The only way to be SURE of a weight of a bike is to fill it up with gas and put it on a scale in front of your own eyes. I would trust sales "blurb" no more than I'd trust a convicted liar. FYI, XT660R, 181kg, wet.

If Suzuki are claiming them @ 166kg dry with a standard tank how did you manage to get it to 150kg with an oversized tank on it ??

Suzuki used to claim they were 147KG.

Some sites such as Bikez.com list curb (wet) weight as 166kg.

The IMS plastic tanks are significantly lighter than the original metal ones.
That's the one thing that springs to my mind. I tend to think a full plastic IMS tank holding about 19 litres would weigh about the same as a full original metal one which only holds 13 litres.

The weight is wet with 23L of fuel. Still no lightweight though. They do look smart. I like them but they should be a twin cylinder I reckon. Then they'd be something to give rival the BMW parallel twins. Not sure about the screen either, very KTMish. They buffet the "bejesus" out of ya !

08 KLR with a full (23 litre) fuel tank registered 191 kg on the interislander ferry weighbridge. That would suggest the claimed 172kg dry weight is pretty close
especially if dry means no oil in the engine or forks, no water in the battery, no brake fluids, no coolant in the radiator.
