I see your point (special)jimmy. However your are making a most uneducated presumption that is ultimately wrong by being too late!
The atnr is very well behaved these days and as said earlier it was 06/07 that it was naughty.
So many bikes head down that road. Atnr only goes(apparently at high speeds) to the pub which is in one direction.

I have worked for some of the locals on the straight(near the church) on peak rd. They mainly complain of the cars. Boy racers and middle aged people with V8 holdens that treat this part of the road like a drag strip.

So it seems that while you may want to whinge at the atnr people, it is actually much much bigger than you could imagine.

You cant tell motorcyclists to behave themselves on kb, you will just get ridiculed.

Doesnt matter if there were 30 motorcyclists out of 100 speeding past there that were on kb, you would just get the big finger.

Watch however, if a biker comes across one car driver doing something stupid and then proceeds to blast all car drivers with the rest of kb rising in an uproar of support. Or of a bike making a mistake and ALMOST losing it, coming in here and stating woah, I almost lost it and then going out and not doing shit about changing their riding style. Motorcycling isnt like a self regulating profession. There are no rules and the collective does not monitor its own. Doesnt matter though because we are socially responsible, us motorcyclists, cos we use less gas and less space. That gives us the right to fuck around on the roads at ridiculous speeds. Which in my opinion is socially irresponsible thus negating the social responsibilty points we just scored before

    seems like it.
i never thought that kb road riders were such an unlawful bunch. it looks like almost everyone in the road section here is either blaming the cops for taking their licence or wanting the speed limit increased to accomodate their bad habits.

You're as bad as special jimmy. Worse, at least he has an excuse.
Socially irresponsible - what the hell are you on about?
99.9% of the time when a biker fucks up he/she only injures themselves. What I do to my self is none of your fucken business. Sticking your nose into my business and trying to tell me what I can and can't do to myself is socially irresponsible. I don't need or wan't you telling me what's best for me, if you like this fine, I'll tell you what's best for you - mind your own fucken business.

Kids are at kindy on a Thursday night?
Well in that case I'll slow down to 80kph for the kindy then. That way if I hit and kill anyone it will be ok, because I wasn't exceeding some arbitrarily imposed limit.

I dont care if you kill yourself mate doing something stupid, but other people use roads, hooning around them doesnt run the risk of hurting just the motorcyclist. A bike hitting a car or anything else at speed isnt like a bicycle hitting something. Motorcycles carry quite a bit of mass and do some horrendous damage.

Im not butting into what you want to do, but the line gets drawn at a certain point. I reckon it should be when motorcyclists start riding recklessly on the road for a bit of an adrenaline rush.

See I told you any opinion to the contrary get ridicule and angry replies. Its the kb way, opinions arent allowed. You seemed so reasonable when I met you in person and a pretty good dude, we actually agreed on stuff. I might have to re think that now.

    your all missing the point!

the point was to state that

    1. people are riding the 80k area's far to fast.
    2. people need to be riding at the speed of what clear road they can see.
    3. someone is going to get hurt.

i don't get why you guys need to try and attack the concept of riding within the law or riding safely.
YOU sir in this situation unfortunately are the one painting yourself as the fool. Instead of carrying on you tirade read what has and is being posted by EVERY poster who participates in the ATNR.
Hinny, stranger and others have clearly stated they don't speed on the ATNR.
At this point in time I'd suggest you accept what they are saying as truth and just leave it at that.
I'd also like to suggest you take yourself out to the end of one of the straights on peak road and watch for a couple of hours --say from 6.45-8.45 on a thursday. You'll be genuinely suprised by what you see.

Re-think what the fuck you like. That's the kind of guy I am, I won't try and impose my will on you.

Sure a bike *can* do some horrendous damage. There are sooooo many thing that *can* go wrong in this world. You must have nightmares thinking of them all.
Reality however is somewhat different. Lets have a bit of reality shall we.
Do you exceed the speed limit, ever? If so you're a hypocrite, if not you're a liar.

Note in both my posts I dont state anything about breaking the speed limit by a little. I am talking about when motorcyclists blatantly exceed the speed limit by great margins. No I do not have nightmares about the dangers in this world, but I do not by any accounts mean to inflate my chances and the chances of others to get hurt.

Yes, I have gone over the speed limit, but never to the speeds written about so often on this site. If it is an 80 zone then I stick to 80. If I see a kindy in the eight zone then drop it below eighty. It is when we read that some road user was speeding gratuitously, resulting in not only his/her death but the injury and/or deaths of others that we have to think about our attitude to the road. I doubt the last thing going through their victims head was "oh it was his free right to do what he wanted, Im glad no one told him to stop and think about what he is doing, or to slow down".

And we wonder why it is we have such a high road toll. It is this populations behaviour and attitude on the road. Not only riders but car drivers as well!

The kindy kids are "precious lambs" and thus are delivered to and from the kindy by 4x4.I live in the area and have never seen one child.

The 80 kmph limit was put in to place to keep whining residents happy, because they like to drive out of their properties and toddle off up the road at 30 kmph.
They complained that "maniacs would come screaming up behind them and run off the road" and no,they weren't obstructing the public highway. It's their right to drive like a cock.

Not being a smartalec here but I ask you WHY?
A kindy unlike a school requires the kids to be locked away in an escape proof cage similar to the zoo or parry prison. (He says looking out his window at the kindy across the road.
If a littlie wanders on the road theres a heck of a lot bigger issue than if you are going slightly over or under 80km/h in a 80km/h zone.
Also even the very best/most generous kindy only operates from 7.30am till 6.00pm, outside of these hours there are no kids there.
