Rang the council today about it, odd there are no other complaints in the system apparently.....

I wonder if mine will disappear.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Good ride last night, was interesting going to port levy, got there saw that, dont think I will be in a hurry to go back (esp when the front steps out). Just got a few wee points that I want to make.....

    1. If you want help/ someone to keep an eye on you just ask! We dont bite (Ok well I do when provoked) and there is nothing "unmanly" in asking for help if you feel you need it. KiwiPhoenix has improved so much since the first ride because she asks for help!

    2. Do not try and stay with the riders ahead of you if they are riding out of your comfort zone. We dont want any accidents. We have a tail end charlie so if you dont know where you are going then just wait for them. The only thing you might miss out on is an extra drink or getting your food order in first, but hey there is more to life right!

    3. If you have to cross the centreline entering a blind corner, or you find when you are exiting a corner you are over the centreline, you need to slow down and look at how you are cornering. Try going wider on the corner. There is no reason you should be over that whiteline on blind corners, you are putting yourself at danger and any rider following you. If in doubt find a course to do cos it will help!

    4. Do not freak out if a big sports bike comes up behind you (or just someone travelling faster than you). You do not need to go any faster. Ride your ride and give them the oppitunity to pass when it is safe. You never know sometimes that rider is happy to sit behind you. However it is always nice to give someone who is travelling faster than you the chance to pass if there is space.

I hope people dont take this to heart but see it as the constructive advice it is meant to be. Its looking like a great summer ahead so lets try to all stay upright and enjoy it!! Hope to be there next week for a "Hopping" good ride

I know the route done earlier this season as wets route (I liked it and wish I'd tryed the pie and chips at the Wheatsheaf), but whats the untested alternative?

well it was suggested that as we approach from lyttelton that we turn off at dyers and make way for the twisted hop....but shh, keep it on the down low.

I could never be like you D, one of a kind!

Actually most of that is just pointers from me. I know what its like to be new to some of these rides and its a few points that have helped me stay upright and out of trouble on a group ride and make the most of those riders with knowledge around me. With the group being so big I just want to see everyone riding safe.

The difference between u and me D is I know how to write it in a way that doesnt piss anyone off!!

    Well said Liv!!!

As for me who is usually at the back anyways, I know and understand that as a newbie everyone is faster than me so if someone wants to overtake they can, I won't feel like I have to keep up. As Liv says I would rather get to the destination in one piece feeling like I have done the ride to the best of my abilities. I feel very grateful that you are all looking out for me as you know whats its like to be the "newbie" and all the hints and tips that have been given have been greatly appreciated!! That said, I will always ask for help if I feel out my comfort zone and thankfuly I have never been made to feel I have to do something I'm not comfortable with and believe me I will tell you if I don't feel comfortable!!

Thanks to you all for all your help and support! You know who you are!!!

    As you were!
