Much simpler cornering technique - just keep steering straight ahead, and when one or other wheel has frame-flexed so as to point round the corner, follow it.
And that is just another reason we like to pass them - so we go round the corner the right way............ not with our arse's hanging out half way around

+1. I've been there on all sorts of bikes. Never had an uncomfortable moment. All manner and conditions of men and so on.

Though Puhoi has gone off somewhat since they opened that tunnel. Not so many bikers there nowadays and the place is being overrun with Mummy and Daddy types and metrosexuals. I think it NEEDS some more intimidating Harley types, to reclaim it.

Ah, but I was not referring to Harleys. I have no idea how Harleys handle, really, because I have never ridden one more than a few hundred metres. Just far enough to discover that my short legs could not reach the forward controls to change out of first gear. oh well, back to the shop. Sort of gave up after that.

    Oh well, I was

I've ridden with a few in my time, and wow! they break about a km prior to a corner, take forever to get up speed, and wallow around corners, but hey, I did find some whose bikes can actually corner, ride nicely around corners, and can really ride like me (far and few between though) So, I guess if you wanna Harley, you gotta be in cruise mode pretty much all the time

Interesting, I was talking to a local Harley rider that beleives he could get onto any sports bike and ride it better than if the sports bike rider got onto his Harley and rode his bike.

I was refering to their riding ability - incredible given their bike is seen as a lardy-arsed wallowing antique-engineered overweight underpowered set of wheels.

After watching some of the TV shows about gangs I get the impression that may not be the case. The whole gang could be undercover cops...

Hell we even conspired to make a gang or group to go for rides during class like just walk out and ride, so we asked the toughest baddest guy in the college and waddya know he wants a Harley. It never worked though, they cant get motorcycle licences because they have crim records racing cars an other stuff. It would of been so hard out we would of made a true 'fight club'.

Which nicely sums up why I don't like following them.

I'd be worried that If I bought a Harley, f'rinstance an XR1200, that I'd tip it over in a corner only to have everything ground hard an have me sliding up the road on my arse.

Looking at my chicken strips though, that might not be too much of a problem...

Your post simply served to confirm it...
Hey, if you got cut off by some guy on a Honda and you thought he was being a dick, well that's fine. No one likes being cut off while minding their own business. What I'm saying is that I was not looking to piss these guys off - I was actually trying hard to get past them without being noticed. I had a feeling that they might not like me going past but my only other option was to stay behind them or breeze past at 130 or 140, which with the amount of cops on the road on Sunday, plus my ticket from the week before wasn't really an option at all. I also noticed that cars were cruising past them and not encountering any static from them. So when, a few km's later they catch up and start waving a middle finger (actually it was the whole arm thing going up and down) in an obvious display of anger and indignation then yes, I do get a little pissed off about it. How would YOU react in a similar situation??
Before you say "I would just ignore them" let me tell you it's pretty hard to "ignore" it when you're being monstered by 3 noisy bikes with bad attitudes whilst trying to mind your own business and just get home. Yes I know that winding it up to 160 was probably on the dangerous side, but at the time I was not really thinking about the road code - more like trying to get the fuck away from 3 assholes with an inferiority complex.

Hey, if you can condemn Harley riders on the basis of that, surely I can do the same to Honda riders...? Or is that too homophobic for you...?
