Completely agree, always the worst part of big rides is the guy on the trail bike with long gearing who decides that after you breeze past him through the trail sections it's a great idea to do 100kmph down the gravel roads past you making it dusty as fuck and showering you in rocks only to get in the way again as soon as it's back to anything vaguely difficult

I had a goodie and the boys had a blast. Was just taking pics and kinda failed on Sunday... got too drunk and couldn't will myself out of the cosy van on Sunday morning so didn't even manage to pick up the camera and walk the track. Got about 400 on Sat near the end of the main loop.

Highlight for me was the press pass for the endurocross. Got so close to that river jump and very wet. was all worth it for the pics though... this was my favourite

i Had a quick word to a guy who after overtaking down a gravel track just pulled infront of me and covered me in stones so when he stopped and waited for his mates to catch up i had a word with me about it and just got the reply i was expecting of fuck off. i had expected nothing less of these wankers.

but even they could not spoil what was my first DS. a big thanks to all that made it a great weekend.
The Sat was a bit of a hand full with the growing depth of mud (the "don't mind the dust" sign was a bit premtive) and at the 25km mark my misses bike decided to start playing up (shit in carb) so it made the hill climbs a bit of a challange.
Sun was a complete change to Sat and was a joy to ride but I paid the price of going to fast for my skill level and came off half way down a straight and ended up seeing a few stars (thanks to whom ever it was that stopped). then to top it all off with only about 5 ks to go I kicked out of a corner and got my foot stuck on a tree root and have torn the ligments in my knee.

i will be back next year. maybe with some knee protectors

Seemed on the Sunday there were heaps of guys racing up behind us girls, revving, we pulled over as soon as we could, they'd then pass and spray shit all over us! Then at the next clearing they'd be chatting. We'd go on and they'd do the same thing over and over! I understand they're out there having fun, but we were trying to do the right thing! Perhaps they should try motor x, or man up for the competition at the end of the day instead of roosting us! Still have to figure out why they do it!! But to those few guys who waved and thanked us, without the big roost, you rock!

Yeah as expected, better option is unleashing the roost from hell when you pass em back... Shouldnt lower yourself to their level and all that but fuck it, why own a 450 if not to hold your own in roost battles!

I got some tasty facefulls of dirt for sure. I was trying my darndest to keep to one side to let faster people pass, not always easy in the slippery mud, so a bit rude to get showered in mud, esp when it's too rainy for goggs. Stilll, I know sometimes you can't tell you've done it. I always try and pass people slowly and then let back on the gas a bit further on. But yeah, I unknowingly roosted Krad a few times apparently...
Also I've put pics up on FB, I can't seem to link them from there even though I made the album public so just check them out there I guess!
    Here's a couple anyway:

More than likely posers on 450MX bikes and they can't go for longer than 10mins without having a rest and the only place they can use all that power is on the gravel roads. See it all the time at most rides.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

i had words with a guy after he stoped on the bottom side of a real bad rooted section leaving you no where to go but over the roots that were on a 45 degree angle down the hill towards him and on the inside of the corner, yess prob my fault for not being able to stop in time as i was going pretty fast and attacking the section as i had no where to go but still wasnt a good place to stop for a drink,

There seemed to be a heap of newbies that lacked trail sense. Everyone has to start somewhere but is the DS a good place to learn. Getting past some of them got a bit tedious as taking the expert sections meant you found yourself stuck behind the same unpredictable track weaving mobile hazzards.
