Ain't it amazing, wasn't long ago that in HD circles sportsters were for girls big blocks were for the real Men, seems the XR1200 is changing that ....

Just in case anyone is still interested, I found this on Youtube today.

Disclaimer: I do not in any way condone reckless riding or racing on the road but purely as an example of what this bike is capable of from a grunt and handling perspective, I think this vid has some Merit.

Personally I wouldn't ride on the same road as this fella but suspend your disapproval of his antics if you can and concentrate solely on the bikes ability to match the sprot bikes prowess in the bends and the slow revving but grunty pick up from nowt to flat out and I think it's pretty impressive. Don't forget, this is a Harley Davidson sportster we're watching here It'll be hyosungs in Moto gp next!

On A side note and keeping some perspective, I get 165k till the low fuel light comes on and my arse and back have had enough by about 120ks so it ain't all good, but it sure is fun

    Oh bugger

You could head down my way, Plenty of sweet roads around here that are worth the effort.

I live just out of Inglewood on a small block. Enjoy any excuse to get out on the bike. Is there a way to PM on this forum?

Half a watch is prolly enough, shows off how capable they are though don't you think, it might surprise a few of the anti Harley brigade, must be nice to fang it round some bends not covered in loose gravel, dead pukekos, tar snakes, landslips and cowshit eh Pete, maybees a track day next season
