Akatarawa ride went well this morning. Here's a pic of Twisty's RD07 and my RD04. We reckon the fuel pump (the stock one) clapped out. Would idle on full choke but nothing else. RD04 pulled he out from the track along the river on the Hutt side back down to Moonshine road. Not too much bother, but you could definitely feel it! Let us know how you get on Mark.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
Ah, good oil on the points there. Although new aftermarket is fairly cheap I think.

thx for that dude, glad there was another Africa to pull me (the xl500 may have been a struggle). When I can be assed I'll try a utility fuel pump to see if that makes a difference.
The Africa Twins at the Dusty Butt look great. Now help me out - where and what is the Dusty Butt?? I'm foreign, I can't help it. I still haven't got off road on my AT, although I did the Burt Munro followed by a wedding in KeriKeri .I make it 1160ks to KeriKeri from Nelson! These bikes are so good on a long distance ride, by far the best bike Ive ever bought for touring. Did I say that out loud? Sorry, I know I was first attracted by the off road capabilities, but now I realise the AT can do anything at all- with ease...

The Dusty Butt is a free 1000km adventure ride that I organise. Originally to be ridden in one day but more and more and taking the "lazy option" and riding it over two days. This is the 2010 thread and my webpage with all the route info. I might take the run back to the Northern route, upper South Island, for the 2011 (Early Jan) run.
Have a look at the pics. Really nice RD03 (650 @) with Dakar Marathon tanks plus other incidental bling such as Ohlins shock ...
Cheers R

Check the Nelson Rideouts thread if you ever wanna dabble with some mild off road adventure bike rides round here.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Probably already know about this site but it leaves WEMOTO for dead for range of parts. Not always cheaper though, but a few bits I just ordered should be cheaper than I can get em here (ex Japan from Honda stealerships)...
About to park the bike up for 2 months as I'm off to Oz so just getting some overdue maint out of the way...
