I've used some gasket sealer on the head/cam cover interface above the spark plugs and it stopped all the oil from making a bid for freedom.
I also did the outside of the stator cover bung but found it was leaking from inside the hex hole for the allen key!
As it's so rounded off it's useless, I filled the hole with goop too.

Installed a new GPS and mount today.
It's a Garmin Nuvi 500 and RAM mount.

My little Quest has stopped transferring tracks back to the computer and it was easier to buy a new GPS than just delete the tracks on it

Bigger screen, better geocache support and I can position it a little higher/further forward and easily change the angle/position compared to my bodged Quest mount.
I've set it so I can still see the speedo/tacho.

Buuuut the Quest has far more features and is more customisable as you can't even do the normal editing of fields that are displayed on the Nuvi

Anyone thinking the valves on the DR650 are just the right size and that Suzuki engineers can do no wrong...

The DR650 valves are the same part number as DR200 valves...

    A 1985 TT600 has 36mm in and 32mm ex valves.
    A 1996 DR650 has 33mm in and 28mm ex.

This has been a pubic service announcement.

Yer but there is an extra two DR200 valves i.e. four in total on the DR650 isn't there?

    I've had some bits arrive...

    1 GSX400F chassis.
    1 GSX400F engine.
    1 GSX400F rear wheel.
    1 GSX400F 4 into 2 exhaust headers.
    1 GSX400F tank.
and several small boxes of stuff that probably has nothing to do with this bike...

    Pics to follow...

Yeah, the blue Suzuki scooter bit. But he's never had a Suzuki scooter

Nope, going to put the "spare" DR650 front end on. The forks are beefier than the KX125 USD's and the brakes are much bigger. The finished article is going to weigh around 180kg or more and will take some stopping.

Now I need to find a crashed/trashed 81/82 GSX400F to raid for parts...

"Spare" in the sense of that they're my dirt wheels.
The forks are "spare" as they're on the spare DR650 chassis.
Everyone should have a spare rolling chassis to nick parts from.

Now if you want some USD's for the R100 we can talk
