I found the same when I fitted an FCR to my 640E. Uses fuel more efficiently. Uses less pretty much all round except when absolutely hammering it. And by hammering I mean steady high revs and on and off the gas. More than I can sustain at my level of fitness and skill.

Heaps more fun to ride, and much more forgiving off road in the knarly stuff. I don't keep good records, but I suspect it is harder on tyres and chains maybe. And on the 640 it was pretty heavy in that area even with the BST.

    The Supertrapp is surprisingly good

It really feels and sounds like a proper dirt bike and so you treat it as one.

    And it responds like one.

I have just found how to change the annoying ABCD... keyboard on some of the Nuvi's to a "proper" QWERTY... one.

Works really well on the Nuvi 500 even if the keys become a bit smaller.

It's a digital, satellite based, location aware version of a rollbook.

My GSXR600 pipe on an FCR jetted for a GSXR1000 can really started to pull from 4500rpm.
When I put on my old Supertrapp IDS race core with 10 discs in, it liked pulling from 5000rpm.

I went down to 8 discs today and went for a ride.
Back to torquing from 4k5 again.

Seems like the 600 can is actually quite restrictive but the hole wouldn't have helped any.

I'd like to try a 1000 can just to see where it torques from and see how many discs to match it.

Finally fixed the tight joiner link on the expensive chain. The pins needed pushing just a little further through the side plate.

The drive feels a lot smoother through the foot pegs now.

    5am?

Geared the DR down to a 15t front to see what would happen today. It was too low before but as the bike now likes running a little higher in the revs I thought I'd give it a go.

Quite nice. Yet to try it in a 100 zone. But in 50 and 70's it is sweet.

That's the equivalent of the stock rear with about a 13t front.

I ran 14/44 for Big River and the NIIOTS and it was great everywhere except the open road with the BST.
    15/46 is slightly higher.

I really like the ratio choices the 46 rear gives.

14/46 is great in the hills.

    16/46 = 15/43

is that the formular: 3 on the rear is = to 1 on the front
'Good things come to those who wait'
Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
