If your lever hits the bars you have a problem with the brakes. Either air in the line or a leak, although that would be easy to spot. The standard DR front brake, when working properly is very good

I'd just go with braided lines. After trying them on CooneyR's bike when it was getting rebuilt after the crash, I went straight up to the counter and ordered some for mine.
I've noticed that some pads are much better than others but I can't remember which

At the extreme end, there is a 320mm motard conversion.

Spend a day on a pre 08 klr, then you will never complain of bad brakes ever again.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

You are lucky to have more than one.

BTW and completely off topic soory, but did I hear a hint that you may have 2 usd front ends available? or did I misinterpret? Cos I am still interested.

Possibly, but will be a while before I have the time. Wouldnt be as cheap as some of the others as theres quite a bit of fabrication and welding involved.

Thanks Nordie - braided lines it is. Yes I had heard there were softer pads too. I don't want Beemer brakes, just some stopping compensation for the added weight (mostly mine~!).

+1 to the guys above, having gone from various airheads to a DR, the DR's brake is leagues ahead of an airhead.

    DR650 bits

Yes, I know this is not the best spot to post on, but I have a black IMS tank and a Pro Circuit T4 muffler and DR650 mid pipe that are now surplus. PM me if you are interested and we can chat about price. I would be able to deliver between Levin and Wellington but may also be able to drop off on the way to Tauranga next week.

    Cheers

    Just a push...

The IMS has gone but the DR650 specific exhaust and mid pipe is still for sale. Was virtually new when I bought it last year and it would not have done 1500 ks on the bike.

    Cheers

    Bits & Bobs

I have a few surplus bits for the DR650 07 that I just sold.

White headlight shroud, Yellow front guard, right side plastic cover (Muffler but missing the rubber grommet) and a virtually unused 15/42 stock sprocket set with new DID 525 chain with unused joiner.

Can get them to you between Levin and Wellington.

Bought them in case of mishaps, luckily there weren't any so now surplus. Drop me an email if they rock your boat and we'll sort something out.

Is that a late model headlight shroud, how much do you want for it?
Nordie, will that bolt straight onto my bike?
