Well one things for sure,
the bikes may be somewhat faster than the 250's we learnt on in the 70's. Well the super sport 250's are but the general run of the mill 250's perform about the same.
However oh yes, reading these posts about how fast? The average learner hasnt changed at all....
Now let me tell you about my mates Triumph trident running on 2 cyl, that out accelerated a Z1..........................![]()

Man... back when I had my old 91 TZR 250 V-twin was restricted to 189kmh then would cut out at 190... So i would just hold it at 185...
Note I was 100kgs and it was back in 97.. lol
And last year I had to get my full license so I got an old 94 ZXR250 and I there was no way i would do over 180... but thats cos it was a pos and didnt stop to well.
And I am now 115kgs.... hahahahaaha
Wow 120kg's where did the other 30 odd go? He's gone from a gearing ratio of 3.07 up too 3.15.Thats hardly going to send the front wheel skyward in second gear...Iv'e had both the rgv and nsr sp models derestricted and in good tune and they couldn't do it.
Top speed from memory was around 200 for the rgv and a max of 190 on the nsr...Get your shifting bang on and you'd prolly have that zzr600 tho'
My CBX250rs is the fastest road CBX250rs in the country. Take that.
Its probably the only one still going................
