Needing a replacement shock for my bike as its stuffed,
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-404321569.htm would this do the trick? looking for a low cost option, wouldnt mind the RS250 or whatever that mod is that raises the back by 20mm
but its all $$
Is that the shock of the nc30 he is selling? either it is, then should be all right, it looks like mine, stock with preload and damping adjustment, otherwise if it isn't (he said it might be off an 18 or 21?) then ask for the one that was on his bike that he's splitting for parts. :-)
Bugger! Otherwise, email/call AJ at motohaus in kingsland. He has two parts bikes that still have shocks in them, and he's pretty reasonable when you need parts (he spent 2h of his time swapping my rs250 one for a stock one, regreased all the links etc as well all for free (well, he got the rs250 shock, but still, thats like 180$ of labour there))
Whatever you do, don't get one off the UK ebay site. have heard getting shocks etc from there tend to be really corroded, rusted etc from the salt/grit they put on the roads in winter
I read somewhere that a cbr600rr would straight fit the NC30/35.
Might help to explore that option.

that cbr shock I got from hayd3n will not work for what I wanted it for, maybe give that a go?
In both cases they will fit with a little bit of machining, But the res is forced to go through the tail fairing which makes it look like ass
Unless I can find one with a remote res.. then I would need to change the spring for the correct spring rate.
Doing the RS250 shock mod would be the easiest solution and it jacks the back end up 20mm, I could probably deal with an extra 20mm even with a new standard shock it would probably raise it another 10mm just due to how saggy it is

WD40 displace the kero on your chain?
you mean the kero you used to wash the lube off your chain?
I'm confused....
just use chain lube...
so does that indicator know what gear you're in or does it just guess by the gear stick movement?
(and does it matter what gear you're in? it's what feels right! 1st is easy enough to find for the lights....)
Nah, was asking if wd40 would rake out all the chain goodness ie like a degreaser does.
Dm: your bike got taken???
yes his bike was stolen overnight. It was found this morning. Its completely fucked and will be a total loss sadly. alot of time and effort has gone into that bike.
parts bike?:-P had a nice exhaust didn't it?
if you want parts that were submerged in seawater overnight after being thrown down a rocky bank, be my guest . . . But I wouldnt recommend it.
DM is trying to see the sunny side of all things, and is setting his attention to what he might get with the insurance payout.
