Right, I'm packed and ready, there will be a thundering of soft furry feet departing Auckland early tomorrow so the rest of you ride safe and please stop and help me pick up the bike (we don't like getting that horrible dirty stuff on our clothes...).

This would be good for the Awakino - Broxy's South Island training bike that I recently picked up from Blenheim.

Except it's missing some vital bits to get to and from.. .but the Awakino itself... yes.

Hi TA and others - I'm in that category of being sorely tempted to do the Awakino - but no I won't be doing the Challenge sections this year. Required too much assistance of others helping me pick my DR up on the Awakino last year

Hoping to tag along with you, Padders and others who'll be giving the Challenge Sections a 'skip' ? Cheers S

PS will be learning to drive my new toy eTrex20 GPS

Sephen I would be honoured to accompany such a fine gentleman. We don't get a lot of them in Nelson so I will make the most of it.

I am waiting to see the goosestep mounting of the overloaded bikes again

My phone hasn't rung today so I'm tempted to leave now & have a tiki tour on the way down. Unfortunately I have 1 job booked in for tomm How can I make enough on that 2hr job to cover a month of bike touring hmmmm.

For those that haven't had a look at the weather forecast, I would recommend taking a warm inner or similar for your jacket just in case it gets chilly.

Yep, Sunday afternoon looks to be damp and the ride home Monday looks like it'll be wet.

Hi Padmei - look forward to seeing you and Schmidty on the DB and the run to Fairlie (Friday?)

You're certainly sharp - took me a while to click about your witticism above - the goosestep is simply a reflection of my woeful lack of flexibility with the advancing years Also not helped by having a Pack Rack and roll bag. Hoping to improve on that this year with my Wolfman bags
    Ciao Craig - S
