which is what I want, if those pussies don't buy them, then there is more for me to buy and play with
in a nation of 2012 Honda Civic drivers someone has to drive the '66 Cobra
Not many 250cc bikes actually handle that well because most of them have cheap suspension, with the exception of some of the 2 stroke race replicas. I have a hell of a lot more fun on my GSXR600 than I did on my CBR250, and not just because of the power, but because the gixxer has decent suspension and the difference in handling is like night and day.
Touche!
All older bikes are junk, every single learner ridden bike is rooted and nobody has ever done any work to them, ever, stay away. My VT250 only managed 150,000km. How pathetic, I bet a Hyosung or EX250 will do triple that and pay off the extra $2-3000 you would spend buying them.
Yeah, old bikes suck dick.
yeh except the 66 AC will have been lovingly maintained even if driven hard occasionally... it'll also be cosseted in the garage...
not bought and sold by a plethora of spotty faced, unable to afford, or cant be bothered to maintain it loonies.
To the OP... bite the bullet a few months,, then go for something learner friendly like a GS or EN500..... and they'll see you into a reasonable period as a full licence holder

the difference in weight is like night n day lol..
suspensions fine for the road, maybe yours was slogged out. I had a few. they should get you round the port hills pretty bloody quick and alot easier than muscling proper big bikes 900-1000. i like my 600s but still.. the weight kills it for me when it comes down to the really twisty stuff.
I don't like the idea of 250cc inline 4 4 strokes. When they go bung you've got 16 tiny little valves, 4 tiny little pistons, and a tiny little 4 cylinder crankshaft. They're 20 horsepower down and 40kg up on the 2 strokes. If a 2 stroke poos itself it's a rebore and a pair of pistons. And parts are eeeverywhere. If you're on an NXR125 and want something faster, may I suggest the FXR150's 2 stroke brother the RG150? Fucking mean little bikes. Reliable, plentiful, easy to work on and just as fast as a CBR250.
The 600 feels a lot heavier than the 250 when I have to push it (which is quite often), but the 600 is an easier bike to ride and doesn't feel any heavier on a tight, twisty road because it's newer and better designed. Rooted 24 year old suspension vs Ohlins. The better suspension easily offsets the extra 30kg of weight.
they dont come with ohlins standard for starters..
and im only stating my view point bro. no need to confuse it with fact.
a small light bike for a trash is more enjoyable then muscling my current 900 around. I had a 600 single last year as 2nd bike and I had a fuckn laugh on that.. don't think it made more than 50hp if that lol
oh the single was from 82 or some year before I was born anyway. plenty of fun on the road
All the feedback is useful, cheers everyone for posting - I wont be able to get a 600 because insurance will be over a grand. Also the cbr250rr i have in mind is from cyclespot. What do you guys think about Hyosung GTR250s?
evolution of a monster is what I think of the GT250R
My heap of poo runs and owes me $665 (I don't count what the real bike owes me...) and I doubt it'll owe me over a grand with a wof includedand it clatters and wobbles, it's bloody hilarious to ride.
Nothing special, just a plain commuter bike and a bit heavy.
