Surely 48 at the most on a Monday. Unless you're wearing a yellow hat of course.

From the Rider's Handbook for GS's Axle Stud 33Nm and Axle clamp bolts 15Nm.

Hope that helps, there is probably a conversion from Nm to blumenthols somewhere though.

    Cheers

Multiply NM by 3.142 to convert to blumenthols.

Padmei?...are you gonna make berlina road legal or a dedicated trackday bike/race bike.

You an voltaire have lit a fuse under my benelli resto project. Spent hours last night on ebay etc looking for parts. Surprisingly quite a lot, even new parts. Thinking not road legal at this stage, riding oppoertunitys not that great but could always put it on the mantlepiece.

    This too shall pass.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

I was hoping you would get going on that baby. Bill in at city mcs has one. it is parked in there occasionally. I really like the look of that old purple Benelli Tornado 650 around here.
Whatever you do don't google reliability or ease of working on Benellis - I did & it saddened me

I test rode one from a dealer in the 90's. It didn't even make it around the block without bending a valve. Needless to say I didn't buy it. I bought a Guzzi 650 Lario instead and that dropped a valve on the western springs motorway on ramp

na my ones is very simple, electrics and gauges and some suspension shared with Ducatis etc it seems. Can even buy brand new race motors starting for about 10,000 euros and a lot of other goodies, but my klr instincts kick in, wellthat and Mrs Woodman just wouldn't understand.

Apologies for going off topic but a "My benelli build" thread would be very slow going, in fact it would have started before there was internet.

Mobile and tested on 12th April. New cables and assorted relays (horn and starter are now reliable) installed later in the month, carbs re-balanced with idle pushed back up to 1000 rpm or so, and WOF refreshed (WOF and Rego expired at end of April). Engine is running very (very) smoothly. Gearbox smoothness is not up to the standard I would prefer but not awful. They do vary quite a bit, even new. However, have not been riding, motivation is in hibirnation.

I am in the process of ordering an Ohlins damper/spring unit so I can return Mike D's loaned unit. I have a Monolever Ohlins but is a completely different unit and is not a suitable start as a rebuild for a Paralever. Correct (OEM) length is a primary factor in the set up specification!

Always liked (twin shock) R65's. Look nice, compact and cute. I am surprised I have never owned one. I do think your one might be a little far gone though! Good luck.

    Regards,

    Michael

Just for you Steve I was going to wait a little bit longer until the rear subframe is finished, I made the seat base fit the last couple of weekends. This weekend its the top rails for the seat to fit on / top subframe hopefully these should all be mounted to the main frame this weekend, so things are slowly progressing.
