If i had a bike that could do 300kmh i would try and do it, once would probably be enough, im more interested in what it would feel like, not bothered if its a track or road.
Ne'er more than the posted "speed limit."

I've had mine upto 168 (indicated) with revs to spare, if it was out then by what it's out by now that means I would have been pulling around 145 on the little thing, if it was more accurate then now however...
I would guess his 155 is indicated? so definitely doable, just actual would have been around 130-135. course 155 real is plausible too but all conditions would have to be in your favor

I used to max it a fair bit just for fun
to be honest 300 feels very much like 200ish, just the mess is considerably further spaced if you hit something.
One reason I sold it was it was just a little nuts and made you want to do that shit!
I got a Duke now and its quite a bit slower but a whole lot more fun to me and looks considerably better![]()

Indicated 250 on 600 SRAD. Speedo over reads by 10% according to GPS, so actual speed was around 225kmh.
It gets pretty damn gutless once the speedo reaches 240. I'm still waiting for someone silly enough to let me borrow their 1000cc+ sports bike.
It was just a bog standard off the shop floor bike.
Never thought much about.
PS,Google is our friend huh.
The only stats I could find list the top speed of the 1980 GS850 @198KPH.
Mine was an 82 with the better ignition system and carbs, but I'd guess speedo error probably had it's own two cents in there somewhere.
