    Super Skinny my tyres

Hmm, just thinking about this this morning. My 1970 T125 runs pretty damn skinny tyres. Std was Innoue Rubber Company (IRC) that all Suzis of the era came out with, B120s & the like, these tyres redeeming quality was that they never wore out.
    - I think you can see where this is going. . .

In the old days I'd order up some good old Yoko 110s. But no show now, also these were seriously skinny for 1.4" rims. Think 2.75 is they smallest they did.

So. . Before anyone says "They run these on FXRs etc" engage brain; they have waay wider rims.

    2.50 x 18 Front
    2.75 x 18 Rear

Has anyone experience in decentish tyres in this size? You can get all manner or chinese crap no doubt, but I would like something safe.

Not much on various websites, guess its not a high profile market.

I've thought about lacing some wider rims on, but I'll have to be careful as the guards etc are made for skinny tyres + this might only take me to 2.75 & 3.0 Frt to Rear.

A quick google shows Avon may be able to help:

If anyone can look at the GS125 parked in Grey St, it has Yoko 110 copies which might be available. Lisa has an IRC Zap on the front of her GL145, it seems pretty good:

Continental list 2.75 x 18 and 3.00 x 18. "Conticity", not too encouraging, but the profile looks OK, and I doubt that Continental would make an actually *bad* tyre.

    Smallest Avon is 90/90 x 18 which requires a 2.15" rim (and that's a front)

    Michelin have a Pilot Sporty, intended for 50cc supermotard racing (WTF ?) in 2.75 x 18 and 90/90 x 18

And 2.75 and 3.00 is Macadam M45 , though those look shitty.

Sheesh the different websites with different info. the Pilot sporty looks cool, but I did wonder with the pics they look like 10" scooter tyres & there are no sizes listed on Mich website.

The 110 copy got me a bit interested, but I wonder what compound is. the IRC jap website doesn't list them, but Thailand does. hmm.

So who's actually tried them I wonder?

    Were they yours?
They were great, ran them on my GL145 and did BOB on them!

Think they were called ProStar's, made in Japan.
    They are 2.75 x 18 though.

Oh you know, building a few pushbikes, building a few scooters, lawnmowers, working on the house etc. I am also playing in a brass band now.

I'll have to get around to building some actual motorbikes soon I reckon.

Are those tyres a similar size to a TS185?

    No a TS185 has a 21" front wheel.

Rear tyre would be similar size though.
