Impaired or retarded? Which it is can be found by answering the question:

What can you fix with a hammer?

The correct answer means you're neither!!

i think he got that hot motor built overseas and they built it for long sweeping corners, of which we have few, didn't work as well here

Oh yeah, how's the trailer coming along?

Alan is back at work now, so the oil pickup is ready to go in the motor. That means the motor can get completed and ready for install.

When replacing the swingarm bearings he found that the main pivot tube was out of round. Indicating that the tube was turned and never been out since the arm got welded to it. Will find out later how he got on pressing it back into shape, or if it needs replaced.

The front end is gonna be built tomorrow I hope. Or at least mocked up.

Ummmm ok...... well sort of.... actually not...... Nah, I'm confused.....

Don't you build a hot engine for going fast down straights???
How does a hot engine know it's going fast down a straight or around sweeping corners???

I know I'm no mechanic, but.........????

You'd build it with a different power delivery depending on what type of track, Grants Windle and Daves LCR both have K4 GSXR1000 and within a couple of HP of each other on the same dyno, both are very different in the power delivery

Just watched Paeroa 1992, Graeme Cole/Neville Mikkelson on a G12 Matchless, is that the same one Neville still races?

The very same animal...its been in the family for 25 years! Graeme Cole and I built it in 1988 with an over-bored Matchless motor (730cc) which the crank "fell" out of @ Wanganui in 1989...everything was rooted Five weeks later we fired the new donk up which had a crankshaft made out of 2 Yamaha tt500 cranks joined together (764cc) and raced that for 11 years. Then in 2000 I built the motor thats in it now which is 800cc and has my own 90 degree crank in it. Made the crankcases, cams, followers, conrods, one piece alloy barrel (cut out of a solid billet)with nickasil bores, and centre main bearing webb. No plain bearings or bushes in sight, its all running on needle rollers or roller bearings. Suffice to say that the 'M' on the tank probably stands for Mickleson
Took it to Eastern Creek in 2000 and won the Ausy champs with it beating a 1300cc Harley and knocked 2 1/2 seconds off the pre 63 lap record in the second lap of the first race...made all the work seem worth it for some reason.
