I struggle to think of an Austin of any era that I don't like...

He is in lumsden, not far from gore. I cannot see him ever selling his collection, I would imagine his son will be taking it over, I have been trying to talk him into selling me an old prefect he has there for a 4wd project that I have in mind, but he just keeps going, LA LA LA LA LA whenever I mention it.

Fair enough, if I had a lush Princess like that, I'd be doing everything in my power to keep it lol.

Still telling myself not to ring the other bloke up for his one! no Indy, bad Indy!

My brother had one and so did a mate. Three speed column shift if I recall. Early '70's. Loved them!

Na, if I had a workshop/garage space I would have bought it, but I don't, so had a small cry and left it lol.

Still got my lush 18/85 to work on. Spre engine is slowly coming apart for it's rebuild.

Cheap, best in its class, great handling and no roof.
It's taken the British idea (small car, shit motor) and made it actually handle, be reliable and relatively well put together.

There's not really anything wrong with the MX5... it lacks power, yes, but so does every non-Honda 4 cylinder.
They'll even out perform a 924 easily (not saying much, but it has a Porsche badge)

Just to say - I've had the Marina lorry for over 6 months and apart froma small starter issue it has been 100% reliable, starts hot or cold on one compression and runs on the smell of an oily rag - an Arabs jock-strap will do it.

    Biggest cost?
    A new speedo-cable - I rooted the old one by being ham-fisted.
