Two Wheels Australia got the original up to 311km/h on Avalon airfield as a true top speed.

Gen 2's are a bit more powerful but still limited to 300, delimited they are likely to exceed 312 actual? depends how their aero compares to the original I guess, Certainly not with my weight onboard anyway.
Of course tires, rider weight, wind etc all play a part.
I ride a Gen 2 Busa, at the time I bought, the Gen 2 zx14 wasn't out, I prefered the looks of the Busa over the gen 1 zx14, especially the instrument panel on the busa, after all thats what you see more off when your on it!
The thing about these bikes that make them a joy for daily riding is the TORQUE, you hardly need to change gear, oodles of acceleration on tap in any gear any RPM, you can pull away comfortably in 3rd...
I found myself craving a litre bike when I took it for a track day though.
Have been meaning to test ride the latest 14 sometime.
Though I'm not die hard, I'll happily have both in the garage if powerball comes in!
Thereyago!
I agree they are not track bikes, but road bikes, whereas the litre bikes are all about racing, like the 600's. Funny thing is, the litre bikes are now puting out same or better HP, so are achieving the 300km/h limits easily.
Has anyone topped out a Gixxer thou to record actual top speed? Are they also knobbled?
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
