Shitballs, never mind you tried, be surprised if you're not bang on about it being an easy fix for someone who (cough) knows what they're doinggot to learn somehow.
If no one else steps up that George guy from Motorcycle doctors gets a lot of good press, and he comes to you so you can watch what he's doing maybe.
Moe: Well, I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt. I mean not that fancy store bought dirt. That stuffs loaded with nutrients. I...I can't compete with that stuff.- The Simpsons
carbs can be fun.... go without a glitch and piece of cake, needle valve not seat properly and it will either flood or or run lean (yours is lean) set the float level wrong and the same, Clean all the shit out of the carb but leave a bit in the fuel line or tank and it may block a jet on filling the carb.....If you get stuck and dont want to spend coin chuck it on a trailer and drop it down....I can swap stuff of Roses GN for a quick fix as she isn't riding it ATM she is learning on the dirt bike then sort the problem and fix it
Or just repeat the carb clean, tank clean and make sure you have an inline filter fitted and lines clean and set the float level, remove the gets and inspect if they are clean, Blow all lines etc with compressed air
Just a fuel issue by the sounds of it no biggie
Float level in my book is 27.4 +- 1mm and is to the top of the float from the flat base, Some bikes it is to the needle valve line (OK may only be the old bikes as its been close to 25+ years since I worked as a bike mechanic) but the book I have is definitely saying the top of the float (pic in the book is on page 4-9 if you have the same book)
I cleaned the carb yesterday and set the float height for Bosslady. The float height was set at 21mm. I changed it to 27mm. Now are we sure of this spec? She had a manual for it but could there be a model year change?
It is very clean inside and all I did was run some carb cleaner through it and blew it out with the compressor. I strongly suspect this float height.
Bosslady text me later, I can pop over tonight for a look with it on the bike if that suits.
Well the GN can very well go fuck itself! I hate this stupid bike, wish I could upgrade but have to wait so have to fix the little bastard in the interim #@$#@@%%!@#%!
I'll try that but I've already screwed around with something that is far beyond my current comprehension of anything! I think it is best I try and find someone who knows what they are doing.
Leathel I may take you up on your offer I'll just see what I can do this week first, if anything.
Stupid %#^$@&#^@% GN
Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.
All part of the learning process, could be any number of things. Getting stressed out when working on things like carbs can make you a bit heavy handed, and then you make it worse. Take some deep calming breaths and chill, it will get sorted. Just needs a little more TLC.

For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
$10 says it's movedit may have been seated properly when you put back together but doesn't mean to say that when you slid the vacuum piston back into the carb body that the needle lined up properly with the hole in the emulsion tube....only has to be off centre a fraction and it'll push out of place. And once it's dislocated the whole mechanism is upset
