Well, we didn't have it sorted at all. So we didn't race for fear of blowing up another motor.

Alan did get to swing though, after Dave's stand in (Grant Waters) hurt his knee and took the soft option.

I got to help Corey and Tim out, and commentate the chair races.

Fuck my life, we still can't just get on this fucken thing and ride it!

Ratshit. But hang in there bro, pretty soon all of that work is gonna pay off and the thing will run without a single hiccup for years.

First session of the day it seems to go fine for five or six laps, then it gets real low on power in the top end. It gets sorta fluttery and won't rev nicely.

Every session after that we get fewer and fewer laps before it does it. By the last race on Sunday at Ruapuna we were maybe reving to 5 or 6 grand and having to short shift, and I couldn't use full throttle at all.

Gonna swap over all the sensors and stuff from the old motor and see if that helps.

sounds like your spark is dyeing , battery going flat ,charging system not working after so meany laps ?

Battery voltage straight off the track is around thirteen, and always over fourteen while running. Got a grunty as Shorai in there.

Spark plugs are new, but we're gonna chuck some new coils on it when we swap all the sensors from the old motor.

I have felt it start to do the same at Hampton downs on the old motor, but only a tiny bit and thought I was imagining it.

It's fucken frustrating! Of course, it's a bastard of a thing to test without a rolling road/dyno or a track at our disposal.

About the only thing that changes over that sort of timeframe is temperature.
Which doesn't really help because that can still affect a bunch of shit, but it does sound electrical dunnit?
Do you have a temp guage on board?
Not running a fuel line anywhere too close to the engine?
Is there an over-temp limp-home function in the ECU?
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

I had a problem that was just as frustrating to find, the difference being the bike would try to kill me each time it happened.

Turned out that everytime I went around a right hand corner the tank would move slightly, eventually moving enough to rest against the end of the throttle bodies and jam the throttle wide open. As soon as I lifted the tank it was fine again and because there were already scrape marks from sanding etc I didn't notice the new ones.

So, is there any cover that you lean on which may press on something and as soon as you remove the cover everything resets??

when you rolled off the throttle a little, did it clean itself back up again and run clean at partiall throttle? If it did this, the chances are it is riching ( Lots of fuel) itself up some how??? Hotter the motor etc the richer it becomes????

Rolling off the throttle obviously leans it back out, so this may be the problem mate. I find it hard to believe it is electrical, but may be?

Need to get it on a Car Dyno man, there is a bloody good outfit in Waitara, I know that is miles from you and must be one nearer too you man

It does run cleaner on partial throttle at lower revs, from what sounds like 4000-7000 revs like.

I'm gonna see if Bryce has a TPS the same as what's on there, they're fairly generic I understand.

Will also be getting a flue pressure gauge on there, and perhaps a manually adjustable regulator.

He's making more sense than most of what I came up with.

By electrical I'm guessing people mean sensor related, rather than an electrical fault. Either way, it wouldn't get progressively worse through each day normally.

Without a dash things are of course, more difficult.

Have you checked fuel pressure at all?? What about fuel flow?? Is your tank clean? Does your fuel pump have an in-line filter? Does your fuel pump have a filter inside it? Does your fuel system have a strainer in it??
Are any of the above items dirty/blocked???

Do you like kittens?? Fluffy or shaved???
    Tabby or persian???
    Grumpy or playful??
