The passenger operated the pedals and gear-stick, 'driver' just steered remembering to turn the wheel left for a right turn.

GREAT fun, especially after after a jar or two....

Nicer to drive than a Jag, mainly because most were autos and power steer. A Jag with no power steering and a truck gearbox is not easy to drive. And Edward Turner designed the engine, that's enough reason for a biker to want one.

There were many pretty and tasty cars in the historic/classic class for the Otago, I think there were 44 classics entered? We managed 7th over all and 2nd in the NZRC Historics, which is a solid result
Nice island that one down south, except the coffee is well expensive and complete shit (exception goes to a little shop in Kaikora).

I love Dunedin, very nice place.

That sounds awesome! If you flip the steering arms back the other way on a Capri or Escort you can do it too

I used to love my mother's old '66 Mk1. Beautiful and comfy on a long trip. A bit tricky on the gravel roads though, with front wheel drive, radial tyres and power disc brakes. You had to get used to it after the old rear drive Humber 80 with 15" crossply's.

My Bro-in-law used to do them up for dirt track racing. Locked in 2nd gear, solid drive universals and heavily worked motor. Was very successful esp. because of the side mounted radiator being well protected from accident damage. Plus being built like a tank!

Went out in a mk1 today, it had two cams. Which is lovely. I am a huge twink fan

Not a crabby mk1 obviously, one of much more significance

Let's face it, all good British cars (I know, oxymoron) were not BL
